Obamacare architect says “You don’t need a doctor”

Good day all. I saw this pop up on Drudge a while ago and thought I would take a look at it. It’s a report regarding comments by Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel saying that you don’t need a doctor for your health issues.

Now for those who don’t know Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel ((Ezekiel Jonathan “Zeke” Emanuel)), he is the brother of Rahm Emanuel, the Mayor of Chicago. (And he’s probably a one term mayor at that) He was also one of the architects for the disaster known as Obamacare. Dr. Emanuel is also a major booster of state run healthcare for the peons and serfs and fully supports rationing medical care. (The so called “Death Panels” Gov. Palin first told us about)

Now Dr. Emanuel has gone on record saying that not all of your medical needs require a trained physician. Here are the details from CNS News:

Under the Affordable Care Act, the Health and Human Services Department is spending billions of dollars to expand community health clinics, which are mainly staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants. “It’s going to be one part of a complex part of the health care system,” Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, one of the architects of Obamacare, told Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly Tuesday night. “So if your kid has a sore throat and you want to find out if it’s strep throat, or your kid has what appears to be an ear infection and you want to find out if it’s otitis media — you really don’t need to go to the pediatrician. You can go to these clinics.”

And when you go to these clinics, you will get to sit in a lobby for 5-10 hours, you or your sick child will get progressively worse, and when you finally get to see one of these nurses or assistants, they will take your pulse, your blood pressure, listen to your heart and then give you some aspirin and send you on your way.

Now I’m not denigrating nurses or these physician assistants, but lets face facts. They don’t have the training that a doctor has, and they can’t prescribe drugs. I full accept that some of these people who have been doing this work for years, possibly decades, will have a great deal of knowledge. The odds are, you’re going to get someone who just finished school last week.

My wife has first hand experience with this sort of “medicine” and allow me to tell you what happened. This was her uncle, the man who gave her away at our wedding in China. A month later he went to the hospital complaining of chest pains. He sat there for 4 hours before a nurse saw him. She gave him some aspirin and sent him home. A few hours later he keeled over and died. This is what Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel wants for America.
