More on Bergdahl from King Putt

In the last 24 hours, more and more information is coming out on the trade of a possible deserter for 5 senior terrorists by Obama.

Let’s begin at the beginning. More members of Bergdahl’s platoon are coming out and reporting that he was a deserter, not a POW. In answer to that, the Obama regime promptly accuses them of being psychopaths who were poorly led and didn’t know what they were talking about. Here are a few details on that fiasco from the Daily Caller:

An administration press secretary suggested overnight that U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl might have been justified in deserting his battlefield post, partly because his platoon-mates might have been “psychopaths.” Bergdahl might “be worthy of sympathy” for distrusting his leadership and for having “walked off,” said Brandon Friedman, a Democratic activist, a former Iraq and Afghan veteran and now a top public affairs official at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

I did a quick check on Mr. Friedman and he served in the 101^st division. I guess this is proof that the military isn’t lock step republican and that some are utter morons. I’ll let those who served with this idiot comment on what he was like. Then we have some news that Obama tried twice before to trade Taliban for Bergdahl but was shot down by Congress. In a story in the Washington Times:

President Obama’s aides met with unanimous opposition from Congress when they first raised the possibility of releasing five Taliban guerrillas from Guantanamo Bay in 2011 and 2012, and administration officials publicly and repeatedly vowed to return to Capitol Hill before making any final moves. But with what they now say was a closing window to secure the release of ArmySgt. Bowe Bergdahl, Mr. Obama made the call to bypass Congress and make a deal swapping the five Taliban fighters in exchange for Sgt. Bergdahl — and sparking a major constitutional battle with Congress.

Well, I’m sure Obama is sorry that he went behind Congress’s back…again. Umm, no, he isn’t. According to Politico:

President Barack Obama said Thursday that he will not apologize for approving the prisoner swap that brought Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl into U.S. custody and that it was the right thing to do.

“We saw an opportunity and we seized it. And I make no apologies for that,” he said at a press conference in Brussels. “We have a basic principle: we do not leave anybody wearing the American uniform behind,” Obama said, repeating the defense he offered earlier in the week.

So, they only hope was to release terrorists who will go back on the attack against American soldiers? There was no other alternative? Well, news is coming out, and this hasn’t been verified as yet, that the military presented several plans to raid the camps where Bergdahl was being held. According to the Daily Mail:

The Obama administration passed up multiple opportunities to rescue Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl because the president was dead-set on finding a reason to begin emptying Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a Pentagon official.

‘JSOC went to the White House with several specific rescue-op scenarios,’ the official with knowledge of interagency negotiations underway since at least November 2013 told MailOnline, referring to the Joint Special Operations Command. ‘But no one ever got traction.’ ‘What we learned along the way was that the president wanted a diplomatic scenario that would establish a precedent for repatriating detainees from Gitmo,’ he said.

So, Il Douche’s goal all along was to empty out Guantanamo Bay irregardless of how dangerous those animals we have locked up are. He never had any intention of working with congress. Well, Congress is just about had it with Obama’s royal pretensions. Lindsey Graham has reportedly said that if Der Fubar releases any more terrorists from Guantanamo, that impeachment will be on the table. According to the Washington Examiner:

Sen. Lindsey Graham is so furious over the swap of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban leaders that he is warning of a GOP impeachment push if President Obama tries to release any other prisoners from Guantanamo Bay. The South Carolina Republican, a prominent member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and a military lawyer, has long supported the idea of shuttering the island prison and at one point a few years ago even served as Obama’s point man in Congress for the efforts.

Those negotiations have long since stalled, and Graham this week became one of the fiercest critics of the president’s handling of the Bergdahl swap.

“The likelihood of Americans being kidnapped in the future by terrorist organizations to retrieve some of their people held in captivity has gone through the roof,” Graham told reporters Wednesday.

“It’s going to be impossible for them to flow prisoners out of Gitmo now without a huge backlash,” he said. “There will be people on our side calling for his impeachment if he did that.”

Well, that assumes that SCoaMF gives a damn about what congress thinks. He doesn’t.

Graham didn’t use the word impeachment during his brief interview with the Washington Examiner. Instead he seemed content to throw up road blocks to any new detainee transfers and wait out the Obama presidency.

“You can keep clamping down restrictions and wait until he leaves,” Graham said when asked what he could do to stop the president from releasing more prisoners.

And if previous history is any indication, Obama won’t pay any attention to you or to Congress. One of the major problems with what Obama has done is the risk he has put every American, not just military personnel, in. In a story on Fox News:

The swap of five high-level Taliban operatives — dubbed a jihadist “Dream Team” — for a U.S. Army sergeant accused by fellow soldiers of desertion has “encouraged” the Afghan terror group to kidnap more U.S. service members, according to a report.

At least soldiers and Marines carry rifles. The Bergdahl situation was different. He deserted his post and went looking for the Taliban. Normally our forces travel in a group and they will shoot if they are threatened.

A source described as a Taliban commander close to the negotiations that led to the release of Bowe Bergdahl told Time magazine the group wants to grab more Americans for similar deals.

“It’s better to kidnap one person like Bergdahl than kidnapping hundreds of useless people,” the commander told the magazine on condition of anonymity. “It has encouraged our people. Now everybody will work hard to capture such an important bird.”

Somehow I don’t think the Talidummy has been following the news. Bergdahl not only isn’t considered important, he’s in the process of being ostracized. Now, as I’ve said to others, and possibly here as well, (It’s been a busy week and I’ve lost track), there must be an investigation into the circumstances of Bergdahl’s ending up in the hands of the Taliban. If it comes out that he deserted his post, then he will face a court-martial. If he gave aid and comfort to the Taliban, (as has been rumored), then the charges would be upgraded to treason.

As for Barack Hussein Obama? We are seeing proof positive of his sympathies for Islam. Many people, usually wearing tin foil hats, have accused Obama of being a closet Muslim. I don’t know if he is or not, but I do know that he doesn’t think like an American and has no attachment to this country at all. He spent his formative years in Indonesia, munching on Fido, and living as a Muslim. His actions since taking office show that he always tends to support the groups promoting radical Islam. The Muslim Brotherhood in Libya and Egypt, and then trying to send weapons to rebels in Syria even though it turned out those rebels are part of Al Qaeda.

I expect the next shoe to drop won’t be the release of a single terrorist being held in Gitmo, (Which Obama wants to do), it will be the announcement that a secret peace agreement with the Taliban has been signed and that the entire population now locked up at Guantanamo have been flown to Yemen. Will that get congress off their asses and start the impeachment process? Don’t count on it. If Graham and the others were serious, the bill to Impeach Barack Obama would already be filed and the hearings would be underway.
