DOJ, “Whoops! Never mind”

Good day all, with Obama’s Declaring war on ISIS, or maybe not, this little gem may have slipped under the radar. It seems that the Department of Justice sort of accidentally confirmed that they are colluding with the House Democrats to block the investigation into the Internal Revenue Service.

If you’ve been paying any attention to the hearings, you’ve probably noticed that Elijah Cummings has been doing all he could to block the hearings in the House Oversight Committee. Well, someone at the DOJ pulled a real boner and called the committee looking for Cummings and accidentally reached a Republican staffer. Here are the amusing details from The Washington Times:

Darrell Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said he knows for a fact the Department of Justice tried to coordinate with Democrats to leak documents to the press — a Justice official mistakenly called his office to set the wheels in motion, he said.

Don’t you just love the competence of the Obama Regime? Here they are, trying to coordinate a coverup and these morons call the very people they’re trying to hide stuff from.

The documents pertained to the committee’s investigation of the Internal Revenue Service and whether that agency targeted conservative and tea party groups that were seeking nonprofit status. Mr. Issa has been trying to get to the bottom of the matter for months.

And if the Obama Regime has it’s way, you will never find out the truth of the matter. Of course, when they actually help you by mistake…

He said a Justice official just recently called the committee and reached a member of Mr. Issa’s staff. But apparently, the Justice official didn’t know he was speaking to a Republican, The Blaze reported. The official “then asked the committee employee if the committee would agree to release the material to selected reporters and thereby allow the department the opportunity to comment publicly on it,” Mr. Issa said in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, The Blaze reported.

Nice going numbnuts! So what are these documents anyway?

The documents dealt with Andrew Strelka, a former IRS employee who now works at the Department of Justice — and who is also involved in the investigation of the IRS. Republicans have said on several prior occasions that Mr. Strelka’s involvement is a conflict of interest.

Conflict of interest? Nope, nothing to see here, this is just a coincidence, nothing more. Move along please. As you would expect, Issa’s staff member asked for the documents. Much hilarity ensues.

Mr. Issa then said the staffer asked for the documents, and the Justice official put the telephone call on hold for a few minutes. When he returned to the phone, he seemed “audibly shaken,” and there was a sudden “change in plans,” Mr. Issa said, The Blaze reported. Suddenly, the Justice Department didn’t want to release the documents early any longer.

Oh, I expect those documents will be provided to the committee. Now that they know they exist and that they were trying to hand them over to the Democrats on the committee to use to aid in the coverups, a certain Attorney General can expect a baseball bat sized rectoscope being inserted into his nether regions. Probably with a sledgehammer.

Mr. Issa called for Mr. Holder to respond to these charges by Sept. 15. “I am extremely troubled by this attempt to improperly coordinate the release of committee documents with the minority staff,” Mr. Issa said in the letter, The Blaze reported. “This effort to preemptively release incomplete and selectively chosen information undermines department’s claims that it is responding in good faith.”

I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you Daryl. Holder will simply lie, deny and hide. I fully expect those documents are going to suffer an accidental shredding in fairly short order and that DOJ staffer is probably going to have a fatal car accident before he can be forced to testify. I expect nothing less from the Consigliere of the Obama Crime Family.
