State Department stops rescue of Americans

Good day all, A about a month or so ago, the highly touted Obama foreign policy success story, Yemen, fell to Iranian backed Islamic rebels. This, of course, is pretty standard stuff for King Putt. What isn’t standard was the abandoning of American Citizens in Yemen due to the State Department deciding it was to dangerous to get them.

Excuse me? Isn’t one of the reasons these people are trapped there due to the stupefying incompetence of the Obama regime and the Kerry State Department? And who told them they could decide if something is to dangerous or not? They aren’t the ones going in, it’s the Marines that traditionally go in and pull Americans out of that sort of situation. Here are the details from Fox News:

The State Department has reportedly deemed any mission to rescue U.S. government assets in war-torn Yemen too risky. The Wall Street Journal, citing a State Department official, reports that any evacuation point designated in a country where an Al Qaeda affiliate is active and an unstable security picture puts Americans and any U.S. military assets involved at risk.

And who put the State Department in charge of making Military decisions? This is just what the military is trained to do. They just need the order to go and they will go in, secure the area by whatever means they deem necessary, (Usually by wiping out the RIF’s in the area), and then pull all Americans and any other foreign nationals out of the country. This is standard stuff. So what does the State Department suggest Americans trapped in Yemen do?

Instead, State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf has pointed to an online system where Americans stranded in Yemen can register to receive updates on opportunities to leave the country. The department has also talked to other countries about Americans joining their rescue missions, she said.

Harf isn’t in a decision making position, which is a good thing. Her stupidity knows no bounds. There comes a point when any honorable spokesperson would say “Enough of this, I quit!” Harf, like all Progressive Moonbats, is not an honorable person.

The decision of saving Americans puts U.S. authorities in a tight spot. They must choose between rescuing Americans abroad or becoming a target for armed groups, including an Al Qaeda branch and anti-American Houthi rebels.

The last I heard, we were hunting down and killing Al Qaeda members. Oh, I forgot. Obama. In any case, the Marines, (Which is who they would send in), know just how to handle anyone stupid enough to fire on them. They make them very dead. So, since the Marines aren’t going to be allowed to arrange meetings with Allah for the RIF’s, what are these people supposed to do?

Usually, the journal says, the U.S. evacuates citizens when commercial methods of transport are cut off. However, the State Department made clear that no such operation was in the works for Yemen, where airports have been bombed and seaports are closed to commercial traffic.

I see. Basically, our citizens should just get their affairs in order and hope for a quick bullet? What if that isn’t what they want to do? is the advice of the State Department that they call the Enterprise and ask to be beamed up?

Now the State Department has been warning people about traveling to Yemen for decades, but people have family there and frankly, they all made the mistake of listing to Der Fubar when he was blowing his horn on how stable Yemen was.

“It’s not like Syria or Iraq where it’s just straight-up wars,” Summer Nasser, an American from New York told the Wall Street Journal, who fled her family’s villa in Aden to escape the escalating violence. “I thought it’s OK—it’s not going to happen overnight.”

That was one in a long string of intelligence failures. As usual, they missed what was happening on the ground. It’s pretty hard to read intentions of the enemy from 500 miles straight up. (The United States intelligence services have been routinely foregoing human intelligences sources, (spies), since Carter and Stansfield Turner trashed the CIA)

I don’t expect much to come from this unless hundreds of Americans are rounded up and massacred by the RIF’s. Even then, I can see the Obama regime and their allies in the Obama Steno Pool burying the story. So what can anyone do?

Muslim rights activists have filed a lawsuit in federal court in Washington to try and get trapped Americans out. The groups also launched a website called stuckinyemen.com for Americans who want to leave. It has drawn 700 people, its organizers told the journal.

So, it’s as I thought. It’s every man/woman for themselves. As to that lawsuit, that will be dismissed. The courts do not have any jurisdiction when it comes to foriegn policy or utilizing the Military. Frankly, if some dimbulb judge issues an order, this wold be one of the few times I would agree with King Putt ignoring them.

Now, as I was working in this, I had a thought. There is something Congress might be able to do. Congress could issue a Letter of Marque and Reprisal to one or more of the Private Military Contractor, (PMC) groups. They could go in and get these people out and kill lots of RIFs. There was a novel a while back on just this possibility.

This disgrace has to be dealt with, sooner rather than later. Hopefully we will get an honorable president, (Which leaves out most of the current crop of Republicans and all of the Democrats), into office and he or she will appoint a new Secretary of State who will clean house. Firing Harf would be a good start.
