Good day all. Fox News just put up a big red banner announcing that failed presidential candidate Mittens Romney will be making a “Major Speech on the 2016 Election” tomorrow.
Romney decided not to run for the nomination this time, (Good choice since he would have had his head handed to him by now), but with the rise of Donald Trump, he might just be rethinking things. Here’s what Fox News is reporting:
The 2012 Republican presidential nominee will speak at 11:30 a.m ET from the University of Utah. Exactly what Romney will say was not immediately clear, though there were no signs that Romney would either endorse a candidate or jump into the race himself.
Romney considered another White House run at the beginning of 2015 before deciding against the move, reportedly after being out-raised by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush — who has since suspended his campaign.
Romney figured Bush, who is just like Romney, a spineless bowl of jello in love with big government, would win the nomination and would take care of the GOP(e)’s needs. As we know, Bush was crushed by Trump and Cruz, wasted over $100 million dollars and won 4 delegates.
Despite his decision not to run, there has been widespread media speculation that he could be tempted back into the race in the case of a contested Republican convention as a last gasp way to stop front-runner Donald Trump. The former Massachusetts governor has become increasingly vocal in his opposition to the business mogul.
There is no way Romney could win the general election and if anyone in the RNC thinks he could, they should be committed to a mental institution for the mentally deranged.
Last week, Romney told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that he believes there may be a “bombshell” in Trump’s tax returns, and called for Trump to release his returns as soon as possible.
That worked out real well for Mittens when he did it. Here’s the facts. If Trump comes into the convention with the majority of delegates, but not enough for a lock on the nomination, and the GOP(e) then rams Romney down our throats, it’s game over for the Republican party. I really don’t think they understand the blind rage that will occur if they pull that sort of stunt.
Romney needs to just go away. The base of the Republican party is in revolt and is not going to allow the Establishment to blow yet another winnable election. Putting Romney at the head of the ticket, especially after his dismal performance in 2012, will guarantee President Hillary Clinton, fresh from taking the oath of office with a presidential pardon in her purse signed by outgoing president Barack Obama.
