Oh the arrogance and blind idiocy of Mittens Romney. While appearing on Fox News Sunday, he said he would be open to being drafted as the Republican nominee in case of a brokered convention.
After Romney’s screeching whine regarding Donald Trump last week, a few people, mostly at Hot Gas, were wondering if Romney might be opening himself up as “The Savior of the Party!” at the convention. Apparently, the knothead was. Here are some details from Fox News:
Mitt Romney said Sunday that GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz winning two primary states this weekend proves the Texas senator can stop front-runner Donald Trump, but declined to rule out his own White House scenario.
Romney, a former Massachusetts governor and the Republicans’ 2012 presidential nominee, repeated remarks from last week, telling “Fox News Sunday” that he wouldn’t launch an eleventh-hour campaign for president. But he declined to reject being “drafted” at the GOP convention in July to be the party’s general election candidate.
“It would be absurd to say that if I were drafted I’d say no,” Romney said.
I can’t see any way a Draft Romney movement at the convention could succeed. If, by some miracle he did weasel his way into the nomination, he would go from being a two time loser to a three time loser, and completely destroy the Republican Party.
Could the GOP(e) Beltway RINO’s and the big money donors be that stupid? Are the so blind to what is happening that they think they could actually pull something like this off and think the Base would except it? Oh Hell Yes, I do think they are that mind numbingly stupid.
Romney should just fade away, back into obscurity, never to be seen or heard from again.
