Good day all. It’s time for yet another “Stupid Criminal of the Week!” This week is slightly different than the normal morons I write about. This one has political overtones to it. In this case, we have a blithering idiot threatening to bomb a Trump rally.
As you are no doubt aware, this has been one of the more entertaining election cycles in a very long time. On the Republican side, it’s come down to Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich. Kasich has no chance at all of winning the nomination through normal means and Ted Cruz is about to be mathematically eliminated, like the Boston Red Sox usually are early in the season. Since the odds are that Trump will be the nominee, the #NoTrump clowns have been going nuts over his campaign. Now, we have an idiot making a bomb threat. Here are the details from Yahoo News:
A 20-year-old man was in custody after threatening to bomb Saturday’s rally for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Waterbury, Connecticut. The U.S. Secret Service contacted the Connecticut State Police about 12:45 p.m. after seeing a post on Twitter threatening to “bomb” the Trump rally, authorities said in a statement. According to state police, the Twitter post said, “Is someone going to bomb the Trump rally or am I going to have to?”
A second post warned the suspect’s friend to have his family members leave the rally so they wouldn’t be hurt, said police.
Investigators found the social media posts, which were open to the public, came from the area of Ardsley Road in Waterbury — about 30 miles southwest of Hartford — from the account of Sean Taylor Morkys.
Did this idiot even think about what he was doing? Hasn’t he been paying any attention to things like Edward Snowden and the fight between apple and the FBI? Anyone with 2 functioning brain cells knows the government scans all public posting looking for specific key words. The NSA probably took all of about 5 minutes to find these tweets, determine who sent them and where they were. Then another 20 minutes to reach the Secret Service, if that long.
Morkys was located by State Police Counter Terrorism detectives, Waterbury police officers and special agents from the U.S. Secret Service. He was taken into custody at about 5 p.m. Morkys was charged with first-degree threatening, inciting injury to person or property, and second-degree breach of peace. He was released on a $25,000 bond and was due in court on May 4.
I’ve been doing a few searches on the internet on this twerp. There isn’t anything out there regarding his political beliefs. However, I doubt he is a Cruz supporter. Considering that the crazy stuff like this usually comes from the Left, I would wager that he’s probably a Comrade Bernie supporter. Now he’s going to find out what life’s like as a convicted felon. I’m sure his new cellmate, Bubba, will take good care of him.
