Good day all. A few hours ago I wrote about Ted Cruz throwing in the towel and basically making Donald Trump the Republican nominee for President. However, there was still Governor John Kasich.
Kasich never had a chance for the oval office. He won only a single primary, Ohio, which he also happens to be the governor of. Well, it has been announced that John Kasich is also “Suspending” his campaign.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Republican primaries are now over. There are a few still remaining however, and Trump will probably win them since no one else is still running. Now, people are looking at who Trump will select as his running mate. Prior to the Iowa caucuses, and to some extant shortly after, people were thinking of the dream ticket of Trump/Cruz. However, Cruz went down and dirty and tried every sleazy trick in the book to win.
That turned off a lot of people and gave many pause on Cruz’s maturity for higher office. There is still a chance that the two top vote getters in the GOP Primary season can bury the hatchet, but I’m not holding my breath. Instead, some people are starting to push John Kasich.
Personally, I don’t want Kasich anywhere near the oval office. He is dead opposite many of Donald Trump’s policies. For instance, immigration and handling illegal aliens. Kasich is all for open borders and amnesty. Then there is Obamacare. Kasich has done nothing to end it in his state. In fact, he has gone against the instructions of the legislature and ramped up all the Obamacare spending, (Medicaid, Medicare, etc) and put the taxpayers on the hook when the subsidies end.
I’m not sure who soon to be President-Elect Trump should select as his VP, but I know that it should not be John Kasich. He has proven himself to be another big government, statist member of the GOP(e). Kasich should have folded his tent months ago, but chose to stay in long past his expiration date. He should not be rewarded with the VP’s seat.
