Good day all. A few days ago, Bill Clinton had a “secret” meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch. When the news leaked out, all Hell broke loose. On the right, people were saying that this proved the “Fix was in.”
Even those on the left were concerned over the meeting. Lynch is under enormous pressures from Obama to sweep this all under the rug, and from everyone else to put this case in front of a grand jury. With questions already being raised over her handling of the matter, the calls for her to step aside and appoint a special prosecutor have escalated.
Now, it seems that Lynch might be heeding those calls….maybe. Here are some details from the New York Times:
Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch plans to announce on Friday that she will accept whatever recommendation career prosecutors and the F.B.I. director make about whether to bring charges related to Hillary Clinton’s personal email server, a Justice Department official said. Her decision removes the possibility that a political appointee will overrule investigators in the case.
First thing, I’ve been reading reports from other sites that there are no “Career prosecutors” with the FBI. They are all in the Department of Justice and are all answerable to…Loretta Lynch and Barack Obama. This is one reason there have been calls for an independent outside prosecutor with no connections to anyone.
The Justice Department had been moving toward such an arrangement for months — officials said in April that it was being considered — but a private meeting between Ms. Lynch and former President Bill Clinton this week set off a political furor and made the decision all but inevitable.
Yeah, nice going there Bubba. You may have just handed the handcuffs to the Justice Department. Still, there is that small caveat I mentioned above regarding career prosecutors.
Republicans said the meeting, which took place at the Phoenix airport, had compromised the independence of the investigation as the F.B.I. was winding it down. Some called for Ms. Lynch to recuse herself, but she did not take herself off the case — one that could influence a presidential election.
Lynch won’t take herself off the case because she has been ordered to circular file the whole thing by Obama and Jarret. Is she hoping that if she does bury the case, Clinton will win and she will be protected? I wonder if she has considered what may happen if she does broom this and Cankles loses? Then the new AG might just take a look at how she handled things and if warranted, indict her.
The F.B.I. is investigating whether Mrs. Clinton, her aides or anyone else broke the law by setting up a private email server for her to use as secretary of state. Internal investigators have concluded that the server was used to send classified information, and Republicans have seized on the matter to question Mrs. Clinton’s judgment.
Clinton’s judgment has always been, “How to I protect myself?” Hillary Clinton will always put her self and what she think she needs ahead of everything and everyone else. If there is a law against what she is doing, then ignore it for the greater good of Hillary Clinton.
For the Justice Department, the central question is whether the conduct met the legal standard for the crime of mishandling classified information.
From everything I’ve read in the public record, along with talking to people who hold, or have held top secret clearances, Hillary Clinton broke the law and did so multiple times. The people I’ve spoken to have said, to a man, that they would already be in jail right now if they had done 1/10th of what Clinton is alleged to have done.
There is also something else that doesn’t get any play in the Mostly Stupid media. The possibility that Hillary Clinton sold her office as Secretary of State for donations to the Clinton Slush Fund Foundation. There are something like 150 investigators looking into the “Clinton Matter.” If this was just about the mishandling of classified material, the investigation would have been concluded some time ago and with far fewer investigators. If this has evolved into a public corruption case as well as the mishandling of classified materials, then I cans see why they need that many investigators. This is why Lynch’s meeting with Slick Willy looks so bad.
The meeting created an awkward situation for Ms. Lynch, a veteran prosecutor who was nominated from outside Washington’s normal political circles. In her confirmation, her allies repeatedly sought to contrast her with her predecessor, Eric H. Holder Jr., an outspoken liberal voice in the administration who clashed frequently with Republicans who accused him of politicizing the office.
Eric Holder is a crook. He is the only Attorney General in the history of the United States to be held in contempt of Congress. His actions so politicized the DoJ that it will take years to clean up the mess and restore their credibility. Lynch not refusing to meet with Bubba makes people think that she’s just as corrupt as Holder is.
Her reassurance that she will not overrule her investigators is significant. When the F.B.I. sought to bring felony charges against David H. Petraeus, the former C.I.A. director, for mishandling classified information and lying about it, Mr. Holder stepped in and reduced the charge to a misdemeanor. That decision created a deep — and public — rift.
There were many things involved with that case and I’ll let others go into them. However, there is one big difference between what Petraeus did, showing classified material to his girlfriend, and Cankles handling classified materials through an unsecured and hacked computer system. The information Petraeus shared went no further. The information Cankles mishandled is probably in the hands of the Russians, The Chinese, the Iranians and 17 year old computer hacker Andre Koslowski currently living in his mothers basement in Gdansk.
I am of the opinion that Cankles is probably guilty of multiple crimes. I also think that Lynch is under orders from the White House to sweep the entire thing under a rug. Because she met with the Silver Zipper, even if nothing was said regarding the investigation, the appearance of impropriety is there.
If she had politely refused to meet with Bill Clinton, and he was off the plane in a minute, then she may have avoided the whole mess. Now? All this has done is reinforce people’s belief that the “Special People” will get “Special privileges” and that Cankles will skate. Billy Boy’s meeting may have actually increased the likelihood that Hillary Clinton will be charged.
