Good day all. With all the other news this week, we missed Theresa May becoming only the second female Prime Minister of England. She was asked by the Queen to form a new government after David Cameron stepped down after his crushing defeat on the Brexit vote.
Prime Minister May wasted little time in making a few changes to things. To begin with, she has abolished the Department for Energy and Climate Change. This has set off the usual suspects within the Church of Global Warming. Here are some of the details from the Independent:
The decision to abolish the Department for Energy and Climate Change has been variously condemned as “plain stupid”, “deeply worrying” and “terrible” by politicians, campaigners and experts.
One of Theresa May’s first acts as Prime Minister was to move responsibility for climate change to a new Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.
I’m sure they will enjoy their new office space once the mops, brooms and buckets are moved out.
Only on Monday, Government advisers had warned of the need to take urgent action to prepare the UK for floods, droughts, heatwaves and food shortages caused by climate change.
Oh please. Are they still pushing that nonsense, that the British Isles are going to go the way of Atlantis unless the ruling elites are put in charge and give full and total control over every aspect of people’s lives in great Britain? I guess they missed the Brexit memo.
The news came after the appointment of Andrea Leadsom – who revealed her first question to officials when she became Energy Minister last year was “Is climate change real? – was appointed as the new Environment Secretary.
Oooh! A climate change skeptic!! Time to call in the Inquisitors and punish her for “Wrong think.”
And, after former Energy and Climate Change Secretary Amber Rudd announced in November that Britain was going to “close coal” by 2025, Ms Leadsom later asked the coal industry to help define what this actually meant.
Oh, I think she knew exactly what it would have meant. Thousands of miners and others who work in the coal industry out of a job and on the dole. It would also have meant far higher energy costs, rolling blackouts and increased poverty. Everything the Ruling Elite’s want to maintain their positions.
The story has a number of quotes from the Hard left groups who have been pushing this new religion around the world. Such as:
Greenpeace said it was concerned that the new Government did not view climate change as a serious threat. John Sauven, the campaign group’s executive director, said: “The voting record and affiliation with climate sceptics of key cabinet appointees are deeply worrying.
“They show a lack of understanding posed by climate change to the UK and the world. If we are to continue to have a key global role in environmental action, we need urgent reassurance from the new government that the hard won progress on climate and renewables targets, air pollution and the protection of wildlife will not be sidelined or abandoned in the Brexit negotiations.”
Green Party MP Caroline Lucas described the decision as “deeply worrying”.
“Climate change is the biggest challenge we face, and it must not be an afterthought for the Government,” she said.
“Dealing with climate change requires a dedicated Minister at the Cabinet table. To throw it into the basement of another Whitehall department, looks like a serious backwards step.”
She said she would work with any Minister “willing to take climate change seriously”, but added she would seek to hold Government to account for “any backpeddling on our climate change commitments”.
Ten years ago, these exact same people were screaming “Global Warming!” We’re all gonna die!” The only problem was that it didn’t happen. Temperatures remained stable or dropped, snowfall actually increased and news came out on how the climate scientists were fudging their data. (Another term for that would be scientific fraud)
Stephen Devlin, an environmental economist at the New Economics Foundation (NEF), said the department’s abolition was “a terrible move by our new Prime Minister”.
“Tackling climate change is an era-defining challenge that must direct and determine what industries we develop, what transport infrastructure we construct, how we manage our land and what our diets look like. It requires a central co-ordinated strategy; if we leave it to the afterthoughts of other departments we will fail,” he said.
In other words, it requires that the government give him and others like him great big piles of money and absolute power.
He called on Ms May to reaffirm the Government’s commitment to the 2008 Climate Change Act, which he described as a “world-leading piece of legislation”. This commits the UK to an 80 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and is “one of few remaining silver linings in UK environmental policy”, Mr Devlin said.
The only way meeting that goal would be to end all use of energy in the United Kingdom and probably kill 3/4th of the British population. The only other way to achieve it would be extensive use of nuclear power. Oh wait! The Greens are dead set against that as well.
The whole climate change fraud is starting to collapse as people learn what it will take to achieve the goals of the totalitarians worshiping in the Church of Global Warming. Abject poverty, starvation and mass death. It’s been far easier for the greens to gain power in Europe due to the way things are set up politically over there.
In the United States, it’s been a lot tougher and there has been a lot of resistance. People here won’t put up with the goals of the climate totalitarians and here we have the means of dealing with them, if need be.
Keep up the good work Prime Minister May. The more leftist you anger, the better.
