Good day all. Back in 2010, the Supreme Court did something right and upheld the 1st Amendment rights of companies. The case came about because the Federal Elections Commission wanted to suppress a film about Hillary Clinton.
The decision opened the floodgates as it were to corporations donating money and resources to candidates. Prior to this, only unions were allowed to and only to the Democrats. Hillary Clinton has hated that decision, especially since it all started with a less then flattering film about her in the 2008 election cycle. Now Cankles has announced that the first order of business for her will be to submit a constitutional amendment essentially ending free speech. Here are the “details” from CNN:
Hillary Clinton will pledge on Saturday to introduce an amendment to the Constitution to overturn the Supreme Court’s Citizen United decision within the first 30 days of her administration, an aide said Saturday.
Clinton first made the pledge to overturn the 2010 Supreme Court decision Citizens United, which opened the floodgates for outside money in politics, while campaigning in Iowa in 2015. She will tell an audience Saturday in a video to be played at Netroots Nation, a liberal organizing conference in St. Louis, that a key way to restore order to politics is to curb unaccounted money.

A Clinton aide said the plan was a “a key plank of Clinton’s plan to challenge the stranglehold that wealthy interests have over our political system” and would allow “Americans to establish common sense rules to protect against the undue influence of billionaires and special interests and to restore the role of average voters in elections.”
Oh there’s that favorite phrase of Progressive Liberals everywhere. “Common Sense.” In their lexicon, that means, depending on the situation, banning, confiscating or suppressing anything they don’t like.
“Hillary Clinton’s commitment to overturning Citizens United, and her other systemic proposals like public financing of congressional elections, are key to improving our chances of victory on every other issue. It’s great that she elevated progressive infrastructure by making this announcement at Netroots Nation — and that she is promising to elevate the fight against big money influence in politics during her first month in office,” said Marissa Barrow, a spokeswoman for the Progressive Change Campaign Committee.
Shall we take a long, hard look at just how well money has worked for the presidential election this cycle? Look at the $150 million dollars that got Jeb Bush the GOP nomination. Oh wait, he ie didn’t get the nomination? He spent all that money and got 4 delegates? Well then it must have been Donald Trump. He must have bought the nomination! Oh, you’re saying he self funded, and that he actually spent as lot less than Hillary Clinton did during the primaries?
So why do the Liberal Progressives want to tamper with the Bill of Rights? Oh, right. They hate the Constitution and everything it stands for. It gets in their way of building their idea of a Utopian society.
Hillary Clinton has the exact same mentality of your typical Third World dictator. A pathological liar, greedy, utterly corrupt and caring only about herself, money and power. In reality, there is no way an Amendment stripping away the right of free speech will make it through congress, let alone through the state legislatures. People call Donald Trump a fascist, but he isn’t proposing rewriting the Constitution to take rights away from people and groups. Only the Democrats want to do that. Consider that in November.
