Good day all. It’s Friday and time for some real foolishness. Today, we have a report that came out last May from the United Nations on how the world should raise taxes on meat production. Why? Global Warming of course.
The United Nations, or as most people call it, “That Kleptocratic Debating Society on the Hudson” is forever trying to find ways to find their thievery without having to rely on funds from the United States and other countries. They also have this delusion that they are the “World Government” and that all nations should be subservient to them.
One of the things they like pushing is the bogus “Climate Change/Global Warming” nonsense. The UN Elites see it as a way to institute direct rule over pretty much everyone, for their own good of course. One of the things these clods like to do is generate reports to show why they should be the ones in charge or why they think they know more than everyone else. This brings us to the idea of taxing meat out of existence. Here are the details of this foolishness from The Guardian:
Governments should tax meat production in order to stem the global rise in consumption and the environmental damage that goes with it, according to a UN expert. The world faces serious environmental problems if emerging economies such as China emulate Americans and Europeans in the amount of meat they eat, Prof Maarten Hajer, the lead author of a report into the impact of food production and the environment, told the UN environment assembly in Nairobi.
“If we were all to copycat the way in which we feed ourselves in North America or Europe [with meat], the planet would be in deep trouble,” he said.
Why yes, you would be in deep trouble since it would mean you might not be able to get the choicest cuts for yourself.
Hajer stopped short of calling for a tax on meat sold in supermarkets and shops, but he said people could be deterred from eating meat by increasing its price further up the supply chain.
“We think it’s better to price meats earlier in the chain, it’s easier. It’s sexier to tax it at the consumer level, but not as effective,” said Hajer, a member of the International Resource Panel (IRP), which comprises 34 top scientists and 30 governments.
Yeah, good luck with that Doc. Speaking of which, I looked up this moonbat to see what he’s all about. A basic search came up with all sorts of things, but I decided to look at Wikipedia. This moonbat is a classic Eurotrash over educated elitist with delusions of usefulness. Typical of his ilk, he is a firm believer of rule by the state, populated with over educated idiots such as himself.
The IRP report which was released on Wednesday predicts a 20% rise in chicken and dairy consumption, and 14% increase in pig and beef over the next 10 years. The authors called on governments to push their citizens to eat less meat to avoid the accompanying “disproportionate environmental costs”, although the report itself does not advocate any policy options.
And why do these closet totalitarians want to ban meat?
It found that the food farmed and transported to feed 7 billion people is responsible for 24% of greenhouse gas emissions, and 60% of the loss of species around the world. “This report shows our current food system has to change because it’s not sustainable,” said Hajer.
Then we have others jumping on the bandwagon.
“Dealing with consumer choices is an extremely touchy issue, but you have to deal with it, because there will consequences,” said Janez Poto?nik, co-chair at the IRP and former EU environment commissioner. “The time is coming when we will not be able to sweep it any more under the carpet.”
Oh No! Consumer choice! This is badevilnotgood! We must prevent people from choosing things we don’t like because they are stupid and only we highly educated elites can truly understand the world.
Henk Westhoek, a co-author of the report, said it was not just governments that should encourage people to eat less meat on environmental grounds, but supermarkets and big food companies. “Once they provide better alternatives, not just in meat alternatives, but in menus, they would reduce meat consumption in western societies,” he said.
And do you know what the alternative to meat is? Why it would be…meat. There is a reason humans like to eat meat. It’s good for us. Humans are not herbivores, no matter how much morons like these Euroscum want us to be. Humans are Omnivores. This means we gain nutrition from both meat and vegetables.
When it comes to meat, we can eat just about any mammal on Earth. When it comes to plants, we have to be careful. Why? Because most plant life is poisonous to humans. Also, meat provides more value per pound than vegetables. We have to eat a lot of salads to get the nutritional value we get from a nice steak. (With a small salad and a potato of course)
It’s time for the United States to pull out of the UN and kick their kleptocratic asses out of America. Since the United States pays for a majority of the UN’s budget, they would have to rethink hiring idiots like Maarten Hajar who do nothing but generate waste paper. Now I’m going to have a nice piece of chicken for dinner tonight, and a small sandwich loaded with meat for lunch.
