Good day all. News just came out that the entire senior management of the Department of State has resigned from their positions.
In a story that was posted at 11am this morning, the Washington (Com)Post reports:
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s job running the State Department just got considerably more difficult. The entire senior level of management officials resigned Wednesday, part of an ongoing mass exodus of senior foreign service officers who don’t want to stick around for the Trump era.
Well, it looks like we actually have a few government workers who are really going to put their money where their mouths are.
“It’s the single biggest simultaneous departure of institutional memory that anyone can remember, and that’s incredibly difficult to replicate,” said David Wade, who served as State Department chief of staff under Secretary of State John Kerry. “Department expertise in security, management, administrative and consular positions in particular are very difficult to replicate and particularly difficult to find in the private sector.”
To put it bluntly, expertise like theirs is exactly what we no longer need. These people are the same ones that allowed Felonia von Pantsuit to run roughshod over the various rules, laws and regulations regarding document retention, not to mention flat out covering up her criminal activities. If they’re leaving now, there’s just one thing to say.

***Update***
I’m getting some other information that rather then quitting in a huff, the senior managers may have been “Invited to spend more time with their families.” and “Asked to seek other opportunities elsewhere.” In other words, they were hit with the patented Trump “You’re fired.”

This is all nonsense. All presidential appointees, whether political or career, must offer their resignations. Trump accepted them. Boom! Gone! Their deputies step up and take the job until new presidential appointees are named and, where required, confirmed by Senate. No crisis at all.
