No wonder the British decided it was time to take their ball and go home. Good day all. As an American, my general attitude towards the Europeans is “Meh, who cares?” However, the remarks by Jean-Claude Juncker just beg for a virtual kick to the groin.
Like most Americans, I consider the European Union to a waste of time at best and a potential threat at worst. Then we have people like the current European Commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker, whose head is so far up his ass that he has to open his mouth to fart. The problem is, when he does open his mouth, it isn’t just onerous gases wafting out, he also demonstrates why people like myself hold the EU in utter and complete contempt. Here’s what this crazed idiot announced regarding the English language from Reuters by way of Yahoo:
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker took a swipe at Britain on Friday, saying he would not give a speech in English because the language was becoming less significant following Brexit.
“Slowly but surely English is losing importance in Europe,” Juncker told a conference in Florence before switching into French and drawing applause from his audience of EU officials, local leaders and Italian students.
So, this moron think that English is becoming irrelevant? Let me see now. English is spoken as a primary language by close to 600 million people and as a second language by another 2 billion. What does he think will be the new “Significant” language? Luxembourgish?
English is the language of business, science and engineering. English is used by India as one of the unifying languages for government and business. (They have others) English was the language spoken by the greatest empire the world had ever seen, the British Empire. English is the primary language spoken by the only true superpower, the United States of America.
All those other languages spoken in Europe? Well, French was once the language of diplomacy, but has fallen to the side in favor of…English. As for the others? Who speaks German or Dutch outside of Germany, Austria and Holland? Spanish is the second language spoken globally, but even that is limited to Central and South America.

Juncker and the other Brussels elites ruling the European Union are just suffering a case of sour grapes. Their artificial nation is collapsing as it always would. Many have tried to build a European Nation, the most recent being Adolph Hitler. They all ended badly.
The British are leading the way in ending this monstrosity, and I suspect we will see some Eastern European nations pulling the plug as well. They will also continue teaching English to their people as a second language since they will want to continue doing business with America, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India. As for Juncker?

Meant to add, no one in Europe
So, better than 1/3 of the planet speaks English. And the nearest competitors are probably Mandarin and Spanish. Other than a few folks on the Iberian peninsula, no one speaks any of the top three EXCEPT English. So I agree. Sour grapes from the EU. They can F O A D, as they slowly will once reality catches up with them.
