Good day all. There are some people, almost all of them in academia, who can’t accept the fact that Felonia von Pantsuit lost the election. They still come up with convoluted ways that she can be made President of the United States.
One such person is Lawrence “Larry” Lessig. Currently, he is the Director of the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University. He is also utterly convinced that Felonia von Pantsuit should be the President. He recently wrote a post on Medium.com laying out how, even now, Felonia could become President. Reading through it, well, there is a fine line between sanity and insanity. Mr. Lessig jumped into a Bugatti Veyron and raced across that line and maximum speed. Here’s what he wrote:
There’s a bunch of chatter about imminent action by the special prosecutor. Some of that chatter suggests evidence of a real tie with Russia during the election. By “real tie” I mean more than that the Russians tried to help. A “real tie” would be real evidence of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.
That chatter is primarily in the faculty lounge at Harvard. The only evidence of late is a report that came out today that the FBI was investigating a bribery plot by the Russians in 2009 regarding the purchase of Uranium mines in the United States. These are the same mines that Felonia approved the sale of after she was bribed donations to the Clinton Foundation were made.
I don’t know if I believe it.
Oh Hell yes you do.
I certainly haven’t seen clear evidence of it.
Because there is none.
And I don’t think it’s appropriate to speculate about whether there is clear evidence of it or not.
So if you don’t think it’s appropriate, why did you write this post?
But I get tons of emails from people asking, “what if there was a conspiracy?”
The answer should be “Seek professional help and stay on your meds.”
It’s a fair question. We ought to have a clear answer.
Ladies and Gentlemen, We’re OFF!! Lessig lays out the usual drivel of how if this is true then Trump must resign. Then he goes right off the deep end.
The first step is obvious. Trump should resign or, if he doesn’t, he should be impeached.
He doesn’t stop there.
The second step should be obvious as well: Pence should resign or, if he doesn’t, he should be impeached.
And why should Vice President Pence resign or be impeached?
He benefited from the criminal (and treasonous) conspiracy just as much as Trump. He shouldn’t benefit even more by becoming the residual President.
This clown is teaching future shysters lawyers and he came up with that? Does he have a clue what this would unleash? Of course not. He’s a Proglodyte Moonbat. But wait!! There’s more!!
Under the law as it is, this leaves Paul Ryan as President. And the hard moral question that Ryan would then face is whether he should remain as President.
No stupid, it isn’t the law, it is the Constitution. Can you say that word? Con..Sti…Tu..Shun! The Speaker of the House is third in line and then the President pro tempore of the Senate. It’s all laid out in the 25th Amendment. You should try reading it sometime.
By hypothesis, we’re assuming the office was effectively stolen from the legitimate winner by a criminal and treasonous act of the (previous) leader of Ryan’s own party.
Here it comes.
There’s no mechanism in American law for a new election. Nor is there a mechanism for correcting the criminal results of the previous election.
So the results you don’t like are now criminal? Funny, I didn’t try that reasoning when Der Fubar was elected and then reelected. As for criminality, there are strong indications of serious voter fraud, that might just reverse your Sainted Felonia’s “Popular Vote Win.”
The Electoral College was meant to be the check, but most in the chatterati resisted the idea of the Electoral College exercising a substantive check, and insisted that its vote must be automatic.
There was a reason for this. President Trump carried the required number of states to win the Electoral College vote. If the electors were to take that away and give it to Felonia, the way you and the rest of the Delusional Party wanted, there would have been an almost instant civil war. Every single elector who took the win away from Trump and gave it to Felonia would have been dead within a week.
So, constitutionally, we’ve passed the moment when this crime could have been constitutionally corrected. And no court is going to step in and do anything about it now, regardless of what the evidence now proves.
Unlike you, they do study the Constitution, (Well most of them do. The Obama Judges are notorious for ignoring that document), and they know that there is no recourse other then Impeachment. Getting back to Lessig’s cunning plan to put Felonia into the Oval office, here’s where it gets fun, for some people’s idea of fun that is.
President Ryan would have the right to nominate a Vice-President. That right is specified in the 25th Amendment. That nominee then becomes Vice-President once confirmed by a majority of both houses. That’s how Gerald Ford became Vice President. And that’s how he eventually became President without ever running for that office.
Well what do you know? You did read the Constitution and the 25th Amendment. Pity you missed the part on what Treason actually is. So, what would Lessig have “President Ryan”, (Oh that’s a laugh right there. Paul Ryan as president?
If Ryan became President because the Trump/Pence campaign committed treason, who should he nominate as his Vice President? The answer seems unavoidable: He should nominate the person defeated by the treason of his own party, and then step aside, and let her become the President.
So there you have it. Lessig’s cunning plan to put Felonia into the Oval Office. He goes on to say that after Ryan resigns, then ins the “Spirit of cross partisan decency” Felonia would then nominate Ryan as her Vice-President.
I don’t know what Lessig is smoking, but he really needs to cut back. His “Great White Privilege Hope”, Robert Mueller, has been trying to find something, anything regarding Russia and collusion for almost a year. Leaving aside the fact that Mueller has a proven conflict of interest, and his track record of prosecutorial misconduct, there is nothing to find because there is nothing there.
If, by some miracle, Lessig’s dream were to actually happen, it would start a full blown civil war in this country. It would be a war that would make the last one look like a small misunderstanding. When all was said and done, the left in this country would no longer exist. Most colleges and universities would be closed, not due to government action, but due to the inability to staff them.
Oh yes, the one thing Lessig and the Proglodyte Moonbats of Higher education fail to consider is that if things were to go sideways, the people they hold in such contempt, are the ones with all the guns. They know who they believe is the main cause of the problems this country now faces, and under those circumstances, they would send in to places such as Harvard, company and battalion sized, for lack of a better word, death squads.
But that isn’t going to happen, thank God. Lessig’s dream of Felonia von Pantsuit as president of the United States is never going to happen now. What should happen is that Lawrence Lessig should be invited to seek other opportunities elsewhere. With this kind of thinking, he should not be let anywhere near a classroom. A padded room perhaps, but not a classroom.
