Good day all. The news that Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy is retiring caught a lot of people by surprise, including me. I don’t have a post ready to go so I’m “Winging” it.
The news that Kennedy is stepping down was greeted with great optimism by Constitutional Conservatives, and with great horror by Progressives and other Moonbats. Kennedy was not noted for his consistency in his rulings, and in many cases his decisions were obviously wrong. The joke was that if you wanted to know how Kennedy was going to vote on a case, check on what he had for breakfast.
Now that he is leaving, President Trump has the chance to appoint another justice. He already has a list of candidates who are very qualified. Well, they are qualified if you believe in the Untied States Constitution, the Rule of Law and the Republic. For the CommuNazis, President Trump’s track record for judicial appointees is horrifying. The normal CommuNazi appointee doesn’t let little things like the Constitution stand in their way, and the Obama appointees have been, on average, disasters. (A lot of the Bush and Clinton appointees are no great shakes either)
In the next few weeks, we will see who President Trump selects as Kennedy’s replacement. Most people who aren’t totalitarian CommuNazi members of the Beltway Uniparty generally like Justice Gorsuch’s ruling, even when they don’t agree with them. He seems to believe in Judicial restraint, (Something that Kennedy and way to many other judges don’t), and doesn’t want to “Legislate from the bench. (Kennedy did in several decisions as does Roberts)
What has the CommuNazis so terrified though, is Ruth Bader-Ginsberg. She is in her mid 80’s and not in good health. Her contempt for the Constitution is well known, and she has been a reliable vote for the CommuNazis desires to institute a totalitarians slave state. She has always supported the State over the Individual whenever she could. (Sometimes the cases were so egregious, even she had no choice but to rule in favor of the Constitution)
When she finally croaks, President Trump will have another opportunity to appoint another constitutionalist to the Supreme Court. When that happens, it’s basically all over for the CommuNazis for at least a generation, perhaps forever. This is why they will pull out all the stops to “Stop Trump’s choice!”
We’re already seeing Upchuck Schumer demanding that the hearings wait until after the election, citing the “Biden Rule.” The only problem, (Of many) with that rule is that it isn’t real. It was also intended to keep lame duck presidents from filling judgeship’s with their cronies during an election.
When Antonin Scalia died, Obama didn’t wait a second to appoint a true anti-constitutionalist to the Supreme Court. The only reason he didn’t get him on the bench was the fact that the Republicans held the Senate and stopped him. When President Trump won the election and was sworn in, We got a fine choice instead.
The other problem for Schumer and his stupid plan is that this election is a midterm, not a presidential election. Schumer is hoping that the “Blue Wave will sweep him into power and he can “Stop Trump!” and end the attempts of Americans to reassert their rights. Of late, that “Blue Wave” isn’t looking to wave like.
We shall see what comes next, but I suspect we will have a new justice by the time the next court session begins.
