Good day all. After almost 4 years, Great Britain has pulled out of the European Union.
It took this long for one very simple reason. The so called “Remainers” controlled most of the British government. When Prime Minister David Cameron called for a referendum on leaving the European Union, he believed that the British people would refuse. When the referendum passed with about 51% of the vote, Cameron’s political life was over.
This brought in Prime Minister Theresa May to begin the process to pull Great Britain out of the European Union. She turned out to not want to pull out and came up with several plans that were so bad, they were rejected by everyone. Eventually, she was forced out and Boris Johnson became Prime Minister.
Now I’m not an expert on how the British political process work. Prime Minister Johnson had been having problems with Parliament and went to the Queen and asked her to send Parliament, which was filled with obstructionist “Conservatives” and Labour remainers, home. These clowns found some judge who overrode the Queen. I have no clue on the legality of this, however it cost the Remainers big time.
Prime Minister Johnson called an early election and that basically became a second referendum on Brexit. It turned into a blowout by the Conservative party, with the crushing defeat of Labour and tossing a few remainers out as well. Prime Minister Johnson now had a solid majority in parliament and Brexit was on. At 23:00 hours UTC, (11PM English time), January 31st, 2020, Great Britain exited the European Union. Here are some details from Fox News:
The departure became official at 11 p.m. London time when the clock struck midnight in the Belgian capital, where the EU is headquartered. Thousands of Brexit supporters waving Union Jack flags gathered outside Parliament to celebrate the severing of the 47-year relationship. A recording of Big Ben’s bells sounded out as crowds sang “God Save the Queen.”
Brexit supporters had been looking forward to this moment since June 23, 2016, when 52 percent of the public voted to walk away from the EU, the successor to the European Communities it joined in 1973. Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the departure “a moment of real national renewal and change.”
“This is the single most important moment in the modern history of our great nation,” Nigel Farage, leader of the Brexit Party, told the crowd.
I would say that if anyone deserve credit for freeing Great Britain from the tyranny of the European Union bureaucrats, it’s Mr. Farage. Of course, not everyone was thrilled with not having some faceless Brussels Bureaucrat telling them how to lives each and every second of their lives.
Some mourned the loss of their EU identity, with several vigils being held across the U.K. Ann Jones joined dozens of other so-called “remainers” on a march to the EU’s mission in London.
“Many of us want to just mark our sadness in public,” she said.
Well, you can always leave and move to France or something. I don’t see the British government doing anything to stop you, and will probably just wave goodbye.
Candlelight vigils were held in several Scottish cities, government buildings in Edinburgh were lit up in the EU’s blue and yellow, and the bloc’s flag continued to fly outside the Scottish Parliament.
Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said Brexit was “a moment of profound sadness.”

Again, I’m not that knowledgeable about British politics, but it appears that Scotland would be much happier under Mao Zedong or Pol Pot. It appears that all the decent, hard working Scots left Scotland long ago and became Americans. All that’s left are the dregs and useless mouths. (With apologies to Sean Connery)
Besides the remainers in Britain, you have the rulers of France and Germany who are upset. For some time now, they have been imposing their views on Britain, almost always to the detriment of the British people. Now that Britain have once again told the French and Germans to “Sod Off,” they’re going to have to figure out how they’re going to take care of their companies. For years, the French and Germans, through the Brussels bureaucrats, have been imposing their standards on British companies, making it virtually impossible for them to be profitable. Now all they will have to deal with our their own home grown tyrannical idiots bureaucrats.
One of the things that is going to happen is the need to negotiate new trade deals. President Trump and Prime Minister Johnson have already been discussing things quietly, and soon I expect Great Britain to begin working on bilateral deals with other countries. I believe this will actually work to Britain’s favor since they won’t be tied to the dead weight of the Brussels Bureaucrats who preferred to take care of their own industries over Britain’s. Make no mistake though, it’s going to be a tough few years. However, perhaps this will finally rejuvenate the old British Lion and the late Prime Ministers, Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill can finally stop spinning in their graves rest in peace.
