Good day all. If this is a day ending in a “Y”, then Alexandria Occasional-Cortex has said something mindbogglingly stupid. Granted, this is an incredibly low bar, but she always manages to pull it off.
This time, she made the declaration that the Democrat Party is a “Center-Conservative” Party. Here are the laughable details of her idiocy from Fox News:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., stated on Monday that the Democratic Party is a “center or center-conservative” party and how there currently isn’t a “left” party in the United States.
Speaking at an event commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Ocasio-Cortez knocked her own party for not being progressive enough.
“We don’t have a left party in the United States. The Democratic Party is not a left party,” the freshman congresswoman began, which sparked applause from the audience. “The Democratic Party is a center or a center-conservative party.”
She continued, “We can’t even get a floor vote on Medicare-for-all – not even a floor voted that gets voted down. We can’t even get a vote on it. So this is not a left party. There are left members inside the Democratic Party that are working to try to make that shift happen.”
You can’t get a vote because people somewhat less stupid then you are know that the American People don’t want it, and that there is no way it can’t be paid for. They aren’t going to waste their time putting something up for a vote that will be defeated. They also remember the last time they shoved something like this through. It caused the biggest blowout for the Democrats in the last century.
The Democratic “Squad” member also compared Monday’s gun rights protest in Richmond, Va., to the protests that followed the deaths of Freddie Gray and Eric Garner and questioned what she thought was the lack of police presence at the commonwealth’s capital.
“There’s this gun rights protest that’s going on in Richmond … on MLK Day, but here’s the image that has [stuck] with me the most about that is that when we go out and march for the dignity and the recognition of the lives of people like Freddie Gray and Eric Garner,” Ocasio-Cortez explained, “the whole place is surrounded by police in riot gear without a gun in sight. And here are all of these people flying Confederate flags with semiautomatic weapons and there’s almost no police officers at that protest.”
There was a few small differences between the protest in Richmond and the ones you brought up. The Freddie Gray protest turned into a full blown riot in very short order. However, most of the rioters were just criminals looking to see the world burn.
The police in Richmond didn’t bother with the riot gear for a few reasons. One, historically, the groups involved tend to not riot. In fact, not only didn’t they riot, they also “Policed” the area and cleaned up their own trash. Your side is rather filthy and drops tons of garbage everywhere.
The other reason the police didn’t bother with the riot gear was that it wouldn’t have done any good if things went sideways. In case you hadn’t noticed dummy, there were about 20,000 very well armed citizens there, carrying everything from sidearms up to and including a .50 caliber Barrett rifle.
I’m assuming that none of the rifles were loaded, but that those carrying them had loaded magazines ready to go if needed. If shooting had started, the police would have been swept aside. (FYI, that Barrett is capable of blowing a hole through the bullet proof glass in most armored vehicles the police have access to. It may be able to go through the side armor as well)
She then asked, “So who or what are our institutions protecting from who? And that image conveys it all, conveys it all.”
If I’m comprehending what your last statement means, and recall, I don’t speak moron, you’re asking if the police were going to protect your ass from the very people you claim to represent. (Granted, you’re from New York, but you like to think you know what’s best for the entire country) This shows people that you are a flat out statist totalitarian, (Another term is Communist), and believe that the power of the State overrides the rights of the individual.
According to one Virginia reporter, at least one Confederate flag was seen at the protest that was attended by thousands of pro-Second Amendment advocates.
OMG!! Racists! White Supremacists EVIL!! I’m quite sure there was at least one Confederate battle flag there. There were probably a couple of Gadson Flags as well. Until the Progressive Liberal Democrats decided to rewrite history, the Confederate battle flag was considered to be a sign of rebellion against the overreach of the federal government.
What happened in Richmond was basically step one. This was the 1st box of liberty, the soap box. You and your cohorts have already stuffed the ballot box, (The 2nd box of liberty), at least in Virginia for a year or so, but there is still the 3rd box, the Jury box. Once the Democrats ram through their unconstitutional laws in Virginia, (Both state and federal constitutions), the lawsuits will be filed. The 4th box, which is the ammo box, will be opened if that racist liberal trash currently residing in the Governors office, Blackface Northam, starts sending out goon squads to begin the confiscation of private firearms.
If that happens, you can forget about police in riot gear. Most have already said they won’t enforce any unconstitutional laws, and would probably join the “Rebels” to remove your “Centrist-Conservative” Democrat office holders. But, I think we may be a ways from there. First, if the laws are passed, the lawsuits will be filed and I suspect injunctions issued. Then the 2020 election will happen and your “Centrist-Conservative” Democrat Party will probably get hammered again. Of course, If that happens, people expect you and the other commies to continue pushing the party over a cliff to the left. In any case, your remarks once again show why you are considered to be one of the stupider members of the House of Representatives.
