Good day all. The State of New Hampshire was “Locked Down” March 26th, 2020, with all “Nonessential” businesses closed and people told to work at home. Governor Sununu did not order a “Shelter in place” directive, believing it would be unconstitutional, both at the state and federal level.
Anger Central is based in New Hampshire, and I have lived in this state all my life. (contrary to rumors, I did not know General John Stark personally) The company I work for in my real life sent everyone home at the beginning of March, (We all work from home and log in via VPN connections), and She Who Must Be Obeyed, the Angry Significant Other, was sent home due to a lack of work. (Her job is considered essential. She is in shipping and receiving)
Governor, it’s time to reverse course and open the state back up. Although you were smart enough not to attempt to lock healthy people in their homes, the unemployment rate is going to go through the roof. The sooner we can get things back to normal, the better. We can’t sustain this for much longer.
I like to walk around during the day, and I’m not alone in this. The weather is changing. Winter is over and people are starting to go outdoors. Most that I see are not wearing masks, and while we do tend to not cluster together, people who didn’t know each other didn’t group around each other in the first place if they didn’t have to.
The fact is, the whole idea of shutting down America was a bad idea pushed by people who have no real understanding of risk management. They saw what the Chinese government did and decided that was the way to go. Other governors have gone so far over the top with their orders that they are going to be booted out of office in the next election, if not sooner. This will include you if you do not start opening New Hampshire up for business.
Businesses are at the breaking point, and if they don’t reopen soon, they never will. There is a Chinese restaurant within walking distance of my home. They opened only a few months before this mess started. They’ve closed down due to the China Virus. If they don’t open up again soon, they will close down permanently. The barber shop I’ve gone to for 20 years is closed, as is every barber shop and hair salon in the state.
I was about due for a haircut when you told the shops close and the barbers to go home, and frankly, I’m very shaggy. So is everyone else I see. Many of these shops, like mine, are Mom and Pop, owner/operator shops that don’t rake in huge piles of cash. I’m worried that my barber my close his doors forever.
Everyone is in a panic over the China Virus. I’m not, and a few other people I know aren’t either. We don’t pay any attention to the Main Stream Media because they lie. They so hate President Trump that anything he says is to be denigrated. When President Trump said that certain medications seem to help and that doctors should give them a try, they not only refused to look into this, they flat out said don’t do it.
Several governors in other states, deep in the thrall of Trump Derangement Syndrome, outright banned doctors from prescribing these drugs and threatened them with penalties of they did. You, governor, were smart enough not to go that route, and doctors in New Hampshire have probably used some of the drugs and saved lives.
The Main Stream Media is also not covering some interesting new information coming out about people being tested for the Covid-19 antibodies. They’re finding that some 30% of people tested have the antibodies, but were never sick with the Wuhan flu, or had symptoms so minor, they thought it was just a bad cold. The only way this could happen is if the virus had been here far longer then first thought. This is another reason to end the lock down. It amounts to locking the barn door long after the horse has left.
Other information coming out, and not being reported, is that people who unfortunately die of the virus, are generally older, or have some sort of preexisting medical condition that weakens their immune system. The overwhelming majority of people who get the Wuhan Flu recover. In fact, it looks like children are the least affected by this virus and seem to just throw it off in most cases.
End the lock down Governor Sununu. It isn’t needed any longer, (if it ever was), and we need to get back to our normal lives. Other governors are further restricting people’s rights and they are going to pay a price eventually. You don’t need to. It’s time to open new Hampshire for business, or people may just decide it’s time to ignore the government’s orders and do it anyway. If that happens, you will be unceremoniously sent packing in November, along with all the other drones in the New Hampshire state government, along with the city and county governments.
