Numbnuts Newsom is looking for fresh undergarments

Good day all. Last year a recall petition looking to remove Gavin Newsom from the Office of Governor of the People’s Democratik Republik of Kalifornistan began circulating. I wrote a post on how the petition was rapidly gaining signatures that went viral on Christmas Day. Well, another milestone has been reached and I think Numbnuts is getting a bit worried.

Last weekend, the petition gatherers reached 1.2 million signatures. They need 1.5 million to put the recall on the ballot and they will probably get as many as they can before the deadline since Numbnuts will do everything he can to throw out the petitions. Here are the details from Fox News:

A recall campaign to oust California Gov. Gavin Newsom is nearing its required threshold to qualify for a statewide ballot. Over the weekend, recall organizers said they have collected 1.2 million of the 1.5 million signatures needed by March 17 to qualify for a ballot.

The law states that the petitioners must gather 12% of the voter turnout in the last statewide election, which was about 1,495,709 names. Since there is no doubt that a number of the signatures will be shown to be invalid, getting at least 2 million is desired to build a nice “Cushion” against any shenanigans Numbnuts Newsom might try to keep his greedy, power mad butt in the governors chair.

Rescue California, one of two main groups organizing the campaign, said their goal is to collect 2 million signatures to account for the fact that many of the signatures will inevitably prove invalid.

To date, it looks like most of the signatures are valid.

San Diego’s KUSI reported Saturday that California’s secretary of state has confirmed 84% of the signatures collected so far are valid.

Historically, it’s been very tough to remove a governor from office in Kalifornistan. The only successful recall was against Governor Gray Davis, which led to the election of Arnold Schwartzenegger.

This is the sixth recall effort the Democratic governor has faced in two years. Once considered a pipe dream in the solidly blue state, this latest recall effort gained traction in the last year because of growing discontent over the governor’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the economy.

“It’s absolutely gaining traction. We’re getting petitions from not only Republicans but from Democrats and Independents,” John Cox, Newsom’s 2018 Republican challenger who recently launched an exploratory committee to challenge the governor again in 2022, told Fox News last week. “This has just gone on too long — the mismanagement that has accompanied this pandemic.”

Mismanagement is an understatement. Flat out incompetence, along with an arrogant “holier then thou, let them eat cake” mentality and his blatant dictatorial actions have pissed off pretty much everyone other then the Ruling Class in Kalifornistan. Also, I wasn’t aware that they had made 5 other attempts to get this tyrant out of office. Looks like sixth time may be the charm.

If the petition drive succeeds, as I understand it, the election will be held something like 3 or so months after the signatures are validated. According to Ballotpedia:

The recall ballot has two components: a yes or no vote for recall, and the names of replacement candidates, selected by the nomination process used in regular elections. The recall measure itself is successful if it passes by a majority. In that case, the replacement candidate with a simple plurality of votes wins the office. If the recall measure fails, the replacement candidate votes are ignored.

The last time there was a recall election and the governor was removed, the Republicans won the office. Considering how the ruling Democratic CommuNazi elites out there have munged up the electoral process, I can’t say if the GOP would carry the day or not. In any case, Numbnuts is beginning to realize he might just be booted from office in utter and complete disgrace. Frankly, it couldn’t happen to a more deserving Kalifornistan Governor.
