Good day all. This is a breaking story so, as usual, the 72 hour rule applies. The president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani, has left the building and Afghanistan, and the Taliban is currently moving into Kabul. President Dementia, who is once again showing what an incompetent imbecile he is, is looking to have someone clean him up.

There is a lot going on. The United States has troops on the ground to cover the evacuation of the Embassy staff, as well as trying to locate any American citizens and get them out. Allegedly, we are also trying to get out the Afghans who worked for the United States and their families, however, since this is yet another Democrat Party debacle, I suspect most of them are on their own. As to what else is happening, here are some of the details from the Washington Examiner:
Taliban fighters entered Kabul on Sunday and sought the unconditional surrender of the central government, officials said, as Afghans and foreigners alike raced for the exit, signaling the end of a 20-year Western experiment aimed at remaking Afghanistan.
Thank you George W. Bush and the Neocons for proving yet again that you are all worthless idiots. Perhaps if you hadn’t hated the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, and backed him instead of trying to get him, he would be in his second term and the Taliban forces would be in bloody pieces all over the countryside.
The beleaguered central government, meanwhile, hoped for an interim administration, but increasingly had few cards to play. Civilians fearing that the Taliban could reimpose the kind of brutal rule that all but eliminated women’s rights rushed to leave the country, lining up at cash machines to withdraw their life savings.
First, that cash is going to be worthless in a matter of hours, so best spend it on hard assets like cars, guns, ammo and gold. Second, you better believe that all women are going to be put back into slavery. I wonder where all the progressive feminists are that backed that epic failure, Dementia Joe are?
Helicopters buzzed overhead as part of an evacuation of personnel from the U.S. Embassy. Several other Western missions were also preparing to get staff out.

I wonder if the Marines and 82nd Airborne will actually have time to get on the ground to protect the embassies, including our own? I also wonder if they will be allowed to actually shoot at the Taliban if they stick their noses where they don’t belong? (I think the safe answer is no, they won’t be able to shoot at all, let alone on sight)
In a stunning rout, the Taliban seized nearly all of Afghanistan in just over a week, despite the hundreds of billions of dollars spent by the U.S. and NATO over nearly two decades to build up Afghan security forces. Just days earlier, an American military assessment estimated it would be a month before the capital would come under insurgent pressure.

This didn’t surprise anyone who actually knew what was going on, which left out the entire maladministration of President Dementia. As for our senior military officers? This is what happens when you let Progressives run things. Most of the good officers were purged under Obama. President Trump didn’t have the time he needed to rebuild the officer and NCO corps. Now we have few combat commanders and far to many PowerPoint rangers in command.
Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen told Qatar’s Al-Jazeera English satellite news channel that the insurgents are “awaiting a peaceful transfer of Kabul city.” He declined to offer specifics on any possible negotiations between his forces and the government.
But when pressed on what kind of agreement the Taliban wanted, Shaheen acknowledged that they were seeking an unconditional surrender by the central government.
Well, they got it. Ashraf Ghani has fled the country. Here are some of those details from the Jerusalem Post:
Two Taliban officials told Reuters on Sunday there would be no transitional government in Afghanistan and that the group expects a complete handover of power.
President Ashraf Ghani left Afghanistan after Taliban fighters entered the capital Kabul earlier on Sunday, capping their return to power two decades after being forced out by US-led forces. As they entered Kabul, the US embassy in Afghanistan reported that Kabul airport has been taking fire.
As I understand it, the western nations are evacuating their people out of Kabul airport. If the Taliban manages to hit a transport with embassy staffers and shoot it down, there is going to be a lot of pressure on Dementia Joe to do something about it. I suspect we know what that will be.

Ghani will relinquish power in the coming hours as Taliban invaded Kabul on Sunday, and a new Taliban-led government will be formed in the coming hours, according to Al Arabiya.
A representative of the Taliban, which entered the capital Kabul earlier on Sunday, said the group was checking on Ghani’s whereabouts.
I would suggest the Hilton Hotel in either Islamabad or the Ghaya Grand Hotel in Dubai. (Probably the latter) Returning to the Washington Examiner story:
At Kabul International Airport, Afghan forces abandoned the field to Western militaries, said a pilot who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss security matters.
The complete collapse of the Afghan government military seems to have caught the striped pants brigade in the State Department, as well as the Intelligence services completely by surprised. Considering how incompetent they’ve been for the last few decades, this isn’t shocking at all. I’ll admit it happened a bit faster then I expected. I thought it they would last another week or so. I guess I was remembering how South Vietnam fell. The ARVN forced did hold out pretty well in the early stages, but ran out of supplies, and when the Democrat Congress threw them under the bus, they broke and ran.
Now it’s a wait and see situation. I expect the Taliban to do something stupid with regards to the westerners still in country, including going after the embassies. (Especially the American embassy) They might be thinking of another humiliating 444 days just like Iran did to the incompetent Carter Administration. I suspect that the Marine guards, even against orders, will shoot back with everything they have and try to get everyone out. As for the people of Afghanistan? Well boys, girls and goats, it’s really going to suck to be you.
