Good day all. Sean Penn is a fairly decent actor. He’s also a first class idiot and a total jerk. He has a long history of inserting himself into situations that he has no real understanding of, and then getting himself into trouble. He has done it again with the Ukraine.

When the Russians invaded the Ukraine, Penn decided to go into the country with a camera crew and “Film a documentary.” I have no idea what was going through his progressive mind when he came up with this “Brilliant idea.” Now that real shooting is happening, it looks like brave Sean Penn has bravely run away…again. Here are the details from The Mix:
Sean Penn has fled Ukraine for Poland after declaring that the “soul as America is lost” if the country does not take up arms against Russia.

Despite the recent social support for Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington’s invitation for Hollywood to “shut the f–k up” about the unfolding situation in Ukraine, it seems social activist and actor/director Sean Penn missed the memo that most everyone is tired of celebrity activism. At the time of Abbington’s admonishment. Penn was in Kyiv filming a documentary about the Russian invasion.
From what I saw, Penn wasn’t on the front lines risking his Progressive Liberal ass. He was in Kyiv attending what used to be called the “Five O’Clock Follies” during the Vietnam war. (The difference being that the Ukrainians were trying to get out what was happening)
In a statement released to the press on February 25th after government officials in Kyiv gave a briefing on the crisis the previous day, Penn said, “Already a brutal mistake of lives taken and hearts broken, and if he doesn’t relent, I believe Mr. Putin will have made a most horrible mistake for all of humankind.”
Well, he is partially correct. Putin has definitely stepped on his crank big time. As for the rest?
“President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people have risen as historic symbols of courage and principle,” he added. “Ukraine is the tip of the spear for the democratic embrace of dreams. If we allow it to fight alone, our soul as America is lost.”

However, as the situation in Kyiv continues to escalate, the bravado of his attempt to summon Americans to fight in another country’s battle seems have to fallen flat.
No kidding. First, there is no way the United States can or should send American military forces into the Ukraine. That would lead very quickly to World War Three and the potential using of nuclear weapons. Second, while Americans have no problem sending the Ukrainians what they need to defend themselves, no one other then the neocons and extreme moonbats, neither of whom will pick up a rifle, wants to intervene.

Now individual Americans may be heading over there to join up, but that is their individual choice. (One of the forums I follow has someone who has gone radio silent and might be heading to the Ukraine) As for Sean Penn? Is he offering his services as a well trained Actor to go out and catch Russian bullets? According to Reuters, apparently not.
A spokesperson in Los Angeles, Mara Buxbaum, told Reuters by email on Tuesday that Penn had “made it out of Ukraine safely.” She declined to answer other questions about his whereabouts or the circumstances of his departure from Ukraine.
“Myself & two colleagues walked miles to the Polish border after abandoning our car on the side of the road,” Penn said in a caption tweeted with the picture. “Almost all the cars in this photo carry women & children only, most without any sign of luggage, and a car their only possession of value.”
This reminds me of a little tune from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. All you need to do is replace “Sir Robin” with “Sean Penn.”

How about looking at the best hotel available in Warsaw? That would be his idea of “Roughing it.” Penn has a history of pulling bone headed stunts like this. The last one that comes to mind was the Hurricane Katrina disaster. I don’t need to go into just how bad that storm was. It was brutal and the devastation was so widespread that getting rescue personnel and equipment in was a nightmare.
However, for the progressive moonbat class in Hollywood, it was their chance to engage in some Bush Derangement Syndrome and show how caring they were. Leading the pack was Sean Penn. I have a recollection of him, a small boat, a shotgun and a camera crew. It didn’t work out to well. According to The Age:
Movie star and political activist Penn, 45, was in the collapsing city to aid stranded victims of flooding sparked by Hurricane Katrina, but the small boat he was piloting to launch a rescue attempt sprang a leak. The outspoken actor had planned to rescue children waylaid by the deadly waters, but apparently forgot to plug a hole in the bottom of the vessel, which began taking water within seconds of its launch.
Besides the boat sinking and the motor not starting, there was the question of where he was going to put anyone he rescued.
But with the boat loaded with members of the Oscar-winner’s entourage, including his personal photographer, one bystander taunted: “How are you going to get any people in that thing?”
The answer back then was simple. He wasn’t. He was there for one reason only, and that was a photo op. This is the same reason he was in the Ukraine. This is the problem with most of the moonbats and morons in Hollywood. They have no interest in actually doing things that put them at risk or makes them uncomfortable. They only want to be seen “Caring.”
This wasn’t always the way things were out there in Hollywierdland. There are a few who will do the right thing and don’t make a lot of noise about it. Sandra Bullock is known for donating 7 figures to various disaster relief causes and not saying anything about it. (She did this for the 2004 tsunami. It only came out when someone mentioned that she had donated money and, when pressed, her agent or publicist quietly confirmed it)
Adam Driver is another actor who was willing to put his life on the line. He was in the United States Marine Corps and was scheduled to be deployed when he had a bad accident that rendered him unfit medically for deployment or further service. He has since gone out of his way to help veterans who have had problems when they came home.
In World War Two, many in Hollywood enlisted in the military and were shot at. Two that come to mind were Jimmy Stewart, (8th Air Force flying bombers), and Clark Gable. Gable flew 5 combat missions as a gunner over Germany. John Wayne tried to enlist several times, and it’s been discovered that his own studio was “fixing it” so he wouldn’t be able to. Director John Ford was on Midway during the battle and was wounded in the air attack by the Japanese. These were and are real people who deserve respect. Sean Penn deserves to be ignored as the useless idiot that he is.
