Good day all. A couple of weeks ago CNN launched their new subscription service called CNN+. It is meant to be a place where you can pay for “Top of the line opinions and quality information.” CNN recruited noted Trump hater and barking moonbat Chris Wallace from Fox News to be one of their “Major draws” for the new service. There’s just been one small hitch in CNN’s plans.
The new subscription service has suffered a Challenger like failure on launch, and they are already talking abut layoffs and staff cuts. This has led their “Star” Chris Wallace crying like a baby over the flaming disaster that is CNN+. Here are the details from Breitbart:
Former Fox News anchor Chris Wallace has reportedly been breaking down in front of his crew over the “miserable failure” of the new streaming platform CNN+.
The launch of CNN+ has been anything but stellar, according to the latest statistics, with the platform drawing in close to 10,000 daily viewers and even fewer subscribers. Per CNBC:
Fewer than 10,000 people are using CNN+ on a daily basis two weeks into its existence, according to people familiar with the matter. The people spoke with CNBC on the condition of anonymity in order to discuss nonpublic data.
CNN+ launched on March 29. The subscription news streaming service, which charges $5.99 a month or $59.99 annually, only became available on Roku on Monday and still isn’t on Android TV. Still, the paltry audience casts doubt on the future of the application following the recently completed combination of Discovery and WarnerMedia into Warner Bros. Discovery.
A side note. I have shares in AT&T, and I recently saw stock added from WarnerMedia and subtracted from AT&T. I’m now a part owner of this epic failure it seems. Well, from what I’ve been reading, the new management of CNN is not happy with the way things have been going for the last few years and it looks like major changes are in the offing.
News of this disaster has not been well-received by Chris Wallace, who left Fox News in late-2021 to join CNN+, and he has reportedly voiced this frustration to his staffers, according to reporter Jon Nicosia.
“SOURCE: Chris Wallace is ‘having daily breakdowns’ over the ‘miserable launch’ of [CNN+],” Nicosia announced. “Wants a ‘CNN show or is threatening to walk’ they go on. ‘He is having staffers count how many times a day his promo is playing.’”
He’s having his staffer monitor the promos for his show? That’s just…pathetic. It’s also shows how insecure he is and probably worried. As to his threats to walk? I think WarnerMedia’s answer will be short and sweet.
The source also reportedly told Nicosia that Wallace is “telling anyone that will listen he wants” Chris Cuomo’s old time slot.
This is a far cry from a few months ago when the flaming moonbat quit Fox News and nuked all the bridges on his way out the door.
Wallace announced his decision to leave Fox News for CNN+ this past December, saying he looked forward to the “new freedom.”
New Freedom? Freedom to do what? Go all in on manufacturing fake news and propaganda for the Progressive Liberal Democratic Communazi party?
“I am thrilled to join CNN+. After decades in broadcast and cable news, I am excited to explore the world of streaming,” he said.
“I look forward to the new freedom and flexibility streaming affords in interviewing major figures across the news landscape—and finding new ways to tell stories,” he added. “As I embark on this adventure, I am honored and delighted to join Jeff Zucker and his great team. I can’t wait to get started.”
Yeah about joining Zucker and company. They canned his ass a month ago. The excuse was his playing footsy with some women. The real reason is far simpler. CNN’s ratings have cratered big time.
Wallace recently told the New York Times that he left Fox News when his colleagues “began to question the truth” pertaining to the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill.
“I’m fine with opinion: conservative opinion, liberal opinion,” Wallace told The Times. “But when people start to question the truth — Who won the 2020 election? Was Jan. 6 an insurrection? — I found that unsustainable.”
One of the problems with Chris Wallace is that Fox was beginning to find him “Unsustainable.” He is the stereotypical Progressive Journalist. Basically he doesn’t report what is happening, he makes a lot of it up and adds his own opinion to the story. He is also militantly anti-Trump. He also refuses to look at the evidence being generated regarding the Tainted Election of 2020. Regarding the January 6th protest, he thinks it was an insurrection, just like all the other progressives.
The CNN+ flop may be a blessing in disguise for WarnerMedia. They might use it as justification to get rid of all the overpaid mouthpieces both on the streaming service, (If they don’t just shut it down and write off the loss), and the main cable network. Wallace may not have to walk out, he might just be escorted off the premises after being told his services were no longer required.
***UPDATE***
Once again reality has moved faster then my posting abilities. WarnerMedia has announced they are shutting down CNN+. It looks like most, if not all of the staff will have to find other jobs internally. The spot that Wallace has been demanding, formally Fhris Cuomo’s, may no exist as the new management works to return CNN to an actual news network.
