Good day all. Well, it’s basically all over but the screaming, crying, threats, denials and the signing of the check. The Board of Directors, realizing they were going to be screwed, blued and tattooed if the stopped Elon Musk’s takeover bid, have announced that will accept Musk’s offer.
This still has to go to the shareholders for a vote, but Twitter’s stock price was never all that good and most of the shareholders will make a nice profit. Now I don’t know how long all this will take, but I suspect that Twitter will be the property of Elon Musk’s before the midterm elections.
One of the things going on is a trend to have the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump’s twitter account reactivated. It was shut down in a blatant case of censorship in January 2021. However, President Trump has announced that “Thanks, but no thanks, I’m going to use my platform, Truth Social.”
Personally, I think Musk should reactivate it and President Trump should make a few posts, basically rubbing the progressive’s faces in the fact that in the end, he won. It would be a nice touch of salt in the progressive’s open wound of not having to deal with ideas they don’t like.
Speaking of the Liberals, they have been going ballistic. The general response can be summed up thus:
In the hours since the announcement, several conservatives who had walked away from twitter were now returning. (I wasn’t aware they had left, which shows how much I pay attention to Twitter) Both Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin have reactivated their accounts. One account not yet restored, (Other then president Trump’s), is the one used by the Babylon Bee. It may take a whole for their account, along with other conservatives who were thrown off the platform to be able to post again, possibly they won’t be allowed back on until Musk formally takes control.
The overnight screams from the Liberals has been increasing, with many claiming that now free speech is going to be stopped on twitter. One person, Shaun King, who’s claim to fame is….I have no idea. I never heard of him until about 20 minutes ago. Apparently he is an alleged civil rights activist. He claimed that Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter was all about “White power.” He then deleted his account. (I guess this King guy hates real African Americans. Elon Musk is a naturalized American and was born in Africa)
I’ve been putting together a list of leftist loons and their reactions, and when I have some time I’ll create a post listing them. However I’ll have some stiff competition. Powerline Blog has already posted a “Mid-week in pictures: Muskageddon edition.” One of the pictures is a meme I created too. Considering the reaction of the moonbats, I think it’s perfect.
One of the desperation moves that the progressives have been calling for is the maladministration somehow blocking the deal, possibly under anti-trust laws. While I have no doubt that the Maladministration would try to do this, (The Rule of Law is something the Bidens have never heard of), they don’t have a leg to stand on. There are other Twitter like platforms out there, (President Trump’s Truth Social for instance), and Musk isn’t trying to shut them down. If the shareholders approve, and I believe there will be a vote next month, Twitter will become the property of Elon Musk. Then the real fun begins.
