New San Francisco DA starts cleaning house

Good day all. A few weeks ago, the Soros District Attorney for San Francisco, Chesa Boudin, was booted out of office in a recall election. His replacement has been appointed and she has started to take out the trash left behind by Boudin.

First a little background. Boudin is a hard left, basically a Communist who was one of the District Attorneys put into place by George Soros. (He provided the money for their elections) Like all the other Soros prosecutors, he immediately began coddling criminals at the expense of the innocent.

Finally, the people of San Francisco had had enough of him and put together a recall. He was hammered at the polls and was removed from office. The City Council replaced that loser with a former prosecutor that Boudin unceremoniously fired, probably due to her putting criminals in prison and not back out on the streets. She has now fired a number of Boudin’s minions and flunkies. Here are the details from Fox News:

The new district attorney in San Francisco is cleaning house after the ouster of her embattled progressive predecessor Chesa Boudin, firing at least 15 employees from the prosecutor’s office.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, whom Mayor London Breed swore in eight days prior, issued a statement Friday saying she made “difficult, but important changes to my management team and staff that will help advance my vision to restore a sense of safety in San Francisco by holding serious and repeat offenders accountable and implementing smart criminal justice reforms.”

“I promised the public that I would restore accountability and consequences to the criminal justice system while advancing smart reforms responsibly,” Jenkins said in the statement, reported by SF Gate. “My new management team, which will include the addition of three women of color, with decades of prosecutorial experience at the highest levels, will help our office deliver on that promise. I have full faith and confidence that these women will promote and protect public safety while delivering justice in all of its various forms.”

Well, Ms. Jenkins is a Democrat of course, which explains the standard identity politics information on “Three women of color” remarks. (Republicans don’t care about that. They want competent people and their skin color and whether they have internal or external plumbing isn’t important) Still, getting rid of the people who have helped turn San Francisco into a giant outdoor toilet is a good start.

Among those on Jenkins’ chopping block was Managing Attorney Arcelia Hurtado, who served as the district attorney’s representative on the city’s Innocence Commission, which Boudin established in 2020 to investigate potential wrongful convictions in San Francisco. Hurtado took to Twitter to express her frustration after losing her job.

“After over 2 years of tireless and devoted service to the City and Cty of SF, I was unceremoniously fired without cause via phone by the Mayor’s appointed DA,” she tweeted. “I am the highest-ranking Latina/LGBTQ member of the management team at that office. I will continue the fight 4justice.”

I think I can see why you were canned. While making sure that those in prison are actually guilty of the crimes they were convicted of, from your remarks, that wasn’t your priority. That you started waving the rainbow flag instead of saying that you had identified innocent people wrongly convicted speaks volumes.

Lara Bazelon, law professor at the University of San Francisco and chair of the commission, called Hurtado’s dismissal “concerning” because Hurtado “was the head of the DA’s post-conviction review unit, which, among other things, is currently considering the petition by Mayor London Breed’s brother Napoleon Brown to be granted leniency and released from prison following his conviction for carjacking and manslaughter.”

Frankly, no one from the San Francisco District Attorney’s office should have anything to do with that case. The conflicts of interest is so blatantly obvious that Boudin should have passed it to the State Attorney General’s office to review.

In remarks to SF Gate, Bazelon added: “I can see no legitimate reason for firing an attorney as rigorous, competent and ethical as Arcelia.”

I can of course. She was a crony of Boudin’s, and so had to go. In fact, it looks like Jenkins is getting rid of all the Boudin loyalists. This makes sense if she wants to get things done and not have her work actively sabotaged by any holdovers.

Jenkins, who also considers herself a progressive prosecutor, said during the campaign that Boudin was too rigid. He eliminated cash bail for defendants and declared that minors would not be tried as adults, no matter how serious the crime.

Boudin’s refusal to prosecute serious crimes, and considered that anyone under the age of 18 should be let go, even if they had murdered someone tells you just how dangerous he was to the innocent people of the city.

Jenkins said she would like those tools available for prosecutors to use at their discretion, according to The Associated Press.

That is why they have discretion. Sometimes something comes up that just doesn’t fit the standard operating procedures, and you need some leeway to deal with that specific situation. Only hardcore Marxists, Socialists and Communists think the “One size fits all” approach is valid.

Brooke Jenkins said she plans to run in November to serve the rest of Boudin’s term through 2023.

I suspect one of her potential opponents will be that loser Chesa Boudin. He is making noises about running again to regain his seat. Good luck with that. He was crushed at the polls during the recall and there is nothing he can do to bring those voters back to his side. Boudin is the first of the Soros DA’s to be kicked to the curb. He won’t be the last. Now he is being joined on the unemployment line by all his loyal minions. It couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch.
