Good day all. It’s no secret that the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, doesn’t like one of the more corrupt members of the Beltway Uniparty, Cocaine Mitch McConnell. The feeling is mutual of course.
McConnell has been trying to tank the midterm elections for any Republican that supports President Trump. He’s more interested in protecting his personal position and wealth then in actually supporting his state, his constituents or the United States Constitution. Now President Trump has said that McConnell needs to be removed from his leadership post in the Senate. Here are the details from the Washington Examiner:
Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday accused Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) of being “a pawn for the Democrats” and called on Republicans to remove him as Senate minority leader “immediately.”
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump shared an article alleging McConnell and his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, have problematic ties to China, and cited McConnell’s failure to stop the Inflation Reduction Act as reasons for his immediate ouster.
“The Democrats have Mitch McConnell and his lovely wife, Elaine ‘Coco’ Chao, over a barrel,” Trump said in the post on Wednesday, adding that the couple “will never be prosecuted” as long as the Republican leader in the Senate “continues to give the Radical Left the Trillions and Trillions of Dollars that they constantly DEMAND.”
President Trump is referring to news that has come out about how deeply the McConnell’s business ties with the PRC are. This is similar to the former member of Congress, Justin Amash. His family has deep business ties to China and when President Trump began cracking down on China’s, basically stealing everything they could as well as cheating, it hit Amash’s business interests hard. He quickly went Never Trump, and was soon removed from office. (He chose not to run for reelection when he understood he would lose by Cheney like levels)
Chao is among the former Trump administration officials reportedly cooperating with the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. She tendered her resignation notice to Trump the day after rioters stormed the Capitol.
Chao only got her position due to her husband, Cocaine Mitch. Trump appointed her as a deal with McConnell, nothing more. As to that fake committee? I don’t know what she can tell them. To my knowledge, she was never part of the “Inner circle.”
In his post, Trump fumed that McConnell didn’t do more, such as “use the ‘Debt Ceiling Card,'” to stop the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act earlier this month.
“Mitch McConnell is not an Opposition Leader, he is a pawn for the Democrats to get whatever they want,” Trump said. “He is afraid of them, and will not do what has to be done. A new Republican Leader in the Senate should be picked immediately!”
President Trump is not going to get an argument from me, and frankly, from a good part of the Republican base. McConnell was rolled by UpChuck Schumer on the Build Back Broke Lite bill, and with that Cornyn gun control bill, he and the other RINO’s demonstrated that backstabbing their constituents doesn’t seem to be a problem for them.
What seems to have happened is that McConnell has fallen back into his preferred position. He doesn’t care if the Republicans win the Senate or the House so long as he can keep what he has. He will say and do the absolute minimum to protect his position, nothing more. For example:
After the passage of the sweeping social spending and green energy bill earlier this month, which was passed through a simple majority vote as part of the budget reconciliation process, McConnell blasted Democrats and the legislation.
“Democrats’ response to the recession they caused is giant job-killing tax hikes and doubling the IRS,” McConnell said in a statement on Aug. 7, after the bill’s passage. “Democrats’ response to the energy crisis they’ve exacerbated is a war on American fossil fuel to fund Green New Deal giveaways for their rich friends. And their response to the runaway inflation they’ve created is a bill that experts say will not meaningfully cut inflation at all.”
Instead of fighting this tooth and nail, McConnell did almost nothing. Once it had safely passed and been signed into law, he suddenly woke up and announced that he was “Upset” and Offended.” Unfortunately for him, it’s not going to work this time. This is one reason he is working so hard to actually tank the Republican’s chances of retaking the Senate. He knows that the new members coming in will not stand for his usual levels of Uniparty crap, and may work to push him and the other RINO’s out.
As it is, McConnell isn’t up for reelection until 2026, and considering that he’s as old as the senile fossil in the White House, could decide not to run. Of course, if he did run again in 2026, there is no doubt he will be primaried, and he won’t have President Trump helping him out. Just the opposite. Either President Trump, or, should he choose not to run, President DeSantis will more than likely back whoever stands against him. McConnell should just announce that he’s retiring now and save everyone the trouble.
