Good day all. This story popped up over the weekend and directly affects Anger Central. Maggie Hassan, former Govno of New Hampshire and current progressive Biden bootlicker in the Senate has a challenger, Don Bolduc. As a resident of the State of New Hampshire, I expected the two to debate.
It looks like there won’t be any debates between Hassan and Bolduc. She has flat out refused to attend a debate where the opposing candidate will be. Here are the details from the NH Journal:
U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan gave the Nashua Chamber of Commerce an ultimatum: Boot Don Bolduc off the stage at its upcoming candidate event, or she walks.
In my opinion, the Nashua Chamber of Commerce should issue this reply:
For months, the Gate City’s business organization had planned to host a debate between the two major-party nominees for U.S. Senate for its members and the Nashua community. And according to Chamber President and CEO Wendy Hunt, both Hassan and the GOP nominee, retired Gen. Don Bolduc, had agreed to participate. But on Thursday, Hunt contacted the Bolduc campaign with news that Hassan would not participate in the event if she and Bolduc were to appear onstage together.
“The position of the Hassan campaign is that they would only participate if this were a stand-alone forum, not a debate,” Hunt said.
Now I haven’t been following the campaign as closely as I should, but I’m not at all surprised that Maggie Hassan stamped her feet, threatened to hold her breath and then picked up her ball and went home. She’s basically a standard Progressive. “You will do things my way or I’m leaving!”
The Bolduc campaign responded by calling out Hassan for “hiding behind attack ads” rather than taking questions from the public.
“I never pitched that event as a stand-alone, one-at-a-time forum,” Hunt told NHJournal. “They [the Hassan campaign] understood it to be a debate. But when they called me last Thursday, they said ‘This is the way it’s going to be, and that’s what we’re doing.’”
How typical of a gutless Progressive Liberal Democrat. General Bolduc has been running on two themes. What he wants to do in the Senate, and what Maggie Hassan has already done. Since Hassan is nothing more than a rubber stamp for UpChuck Schumer and Dementia Joe Biden, the last thing she wants to do is face anyone who will call her out.
The Bolduc campaign released a statement Thursday insisting the event was originally scheduled to be a debate and accusing Hassan of pressuring the Chamber to keep the two candidates off the stage at the same time.
“They are correct, there was a change of format,” Hunt confirmed.
“Given her lackluster record in the Senate, Sen. Hassan’s refusal to stand on stage beside General Bolduc is perfectly understandable but also entirely unacceptable,” the Bolduc campaign said. “Public officials owe it to the people they are seeking to represent to make the case directly and answer their questions, not hide behind attack ads sponsored by special interests in Washington.
“This is the action of a desperate politician who knows she is going to face the music from voters in a few short weeks and her time in politics is running out.”
Maggie Hassan won her seat 6 years ago by a very narrow margin, about 1000 or so votes. Her opponent, the RINO Kelly Ayotte looked to have grounds to request a recount, but instead, she did the RINO thing and lost gracefully. She was part of the GOP(e) party and like former President Bush, simply wouldn’t fight back. General Bolduc is more along the lines of the Ultra MAGA Deplorable Republicans. He, like the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, isn’t going to roll over and beg for lube.
The Hassan campaign declined to respond to requests for comment. It also declined to release the senator’s “public” schedule of events for the coming week.
I suspect she’s camping out in the Biden Campaign Bunker.
It isn’t just Maggie Hassan who is being a craven coward and whining crybaby. The two Progressive Liberal Democrat congresscritters are also refusing to debate their Republican opponents.
That is not the approach of New Hampshire’s incumbent Democrats. Both Reps. Annie Kuster and Chris Pappas refused to participate in Nashua Chamber debates and will instead take part in forums where they can avoid being onstage with their Republican opponents.
This is a far cry from the Incumbent Republican governor of New Hampshire, Chris Sununu. He has no problem debating his Progressive Liberal Democrat opponent.
Gov. Chris Sununu and state Sen. Tom Sherman have both agreed to participate in an October 18 Nashua Chamber debate, part of Sununu’s insistence that he will debate the Rye Democrat “anytime, anywhere.”
I have my issues with Governor Sununu on some issues, however he isn’t trying to hide from his opponent. He’s going to stand up and defend his record. Not the Democrats. Thanks to the last two years and the complete hash of things that the Worst President in American history, Joe Bumbles Dementia Biden has made of things, the Democrats look to be steam rolled, crushed and obliterated in the coming midterm elections. I fully intend to do my part on election day and will be at the polls casting my vote. We shall see who’s campaign tactics work the next day.
