Good day all. It’s been almost a month since the midterm elections and there are still some races that haven’t been determined. Then there is Maricopa County in Arizona. In 2020, there were significant problems, with many saying that the election was stolen by the Democrats.
After the election, there was a major fight between the state legislature and the Maricopa officials over doing a full audit of the county’s election system. Instead of revisiting that, I’ll just say that Maricopa county, along with a number of other states and locales have had plenty of time to correct the problems that we saw.
Some of the states did just that. Georgia admitted that they had a problem and passed a law to help correct it. The Democrats promptly attacked them for it, lying about what it actually did. The new law turned out to be popular and it did fix some issues. However, they do still have some problems. Other states did nothing since they’re Democrat controlled and the problems benefited them.
Then we have Maricopa County. They managed to once again screw up badly on election day. Now the Attorney General is starting an investigation of Maricopa county botching yet another election. Here are the details from Newsmax:
The Arizona attorney general’s election integrity unit is investigating Maricopa County’s midterm elections, demanding a “full report and accounting of the myriad problems that occurred” and alleging potential “statutory violations.”
“These complaints go beyond pure speculation, but include first-hand witness accounts that raise concerns regarding Maricopa’s lawful compliance with Arizona election law,” Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright wrote in a letter Saturday to Maricopa County chief civil division attorney Thomas Liddy.
How hard can it be to hold an election? Apparently, for Maricopa County, it’s all but impossible.
There are concerns Maricopa County broke the law, as former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell claimed on Twitter.
“Democrats in Maricopa County are curing ballots after the deadline — and claiming they called the voter before the deadline and the voter just got back to them,” Grenell tweeted Saturday. “This is illegal. We will file another suit to count only legal votes. We followed the rules, they didn’t.”
Democrats never follow the rules if it inconveniences them, and losing an election is something that they find very inconvenient.
Maricopa County has once again been under fire for its handling of elections in the key battleground states, including reports of failing voting machines that forced ballots to be put aside in what is called “Door 3” collections.

“Maricopa County appears to have failed to adhere to the statutory guidelines in segregating, counting, tabulating, tallying, and transporting the ‘Door 3’ ballots,” Wright’s letter to Liddy continued. “In fact, Maricopa County has admitted that in some voting locations, ‘Door 3’ non-tabulated ballots were commingled with tabulated ballots at the voting location.
“Further, we have received a sworn complaint from an election observer indicating that more than 1,700 ‘Door 3’ non-tabulated ballots from one voting location were placed in black duffle bags that were intended to be used for tabulated ballots.”
I am now of the opinion that voting machines need to be banned. The technology has proven to not work reliably and claims that they are secured and isolated from a network have repeatedly been show to be false. We should just use paper ballots that are counted at the polling place once the polls close. We did this for almost 2 centuries, and as long as the boxes were verified as empty before the start of voting, and kept in a secured, guarded and visible location, there generally wasn’t a problem.
Arizona has been accused by GOP gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake of slow-walking the election results in the race that ultimately has declared Democrat Katie Hobbs the winner.
Which brings up another issue. Hobbs is/was the Secretary of State and her job was to insure the integrity of the election. She was also running for governor. Can we say massive conflict of interest? Sure we can! She should have stood down from anything dealing with the election.
There are multiple reports of people showing up to vote and being told they had already voted. Others, after waiting in line for hours, gave up and went home. Most of the voters on election day were Republicans. There is a good chance that if it hadn’t been the utter incompetence of the Maricopa County election officials, bordering on fraud, that Kari Lake would be the Governor-elect. (I understand it was a difference of about 12K votes)
As it is, the lawsuits are starting. Frankly, I’m of the opinion that the election in Maricopa County is so badly tainted that it can’t be certified, and a new election has to be held. If this is the case, then it will need to be the State of Arizona that handles the actual election since Maricopa County has demonstrated that they can not be trusted to handle an election. Will it happen? I don’t know, but if not, Hobbs term as governor will be as questionable as President* Dementia Joe Biden’s and for the same reasons.
