Good day all, In a maladministration loaded with incompetent morons, right up to the Pedophile in Chief, the Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttplug, is in a league of his own. Fresh off his latest vacation, he arrived just in time to watch the disaster known as Southwest Airlines cancel most of their flights.
Pete Buttplug is a classic example of failing upward. He is put into, or elected to, positions of trust and authority and either can’t be bothered to show up or screws up by the numbers when he does. There have been calls for his removal for a while now from the Republicans, but now it’s also coming from the Democrats. Here are the details from Fox News:
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is facing demands and pressure from influential leaders across the political spectrum as tens of thousands of Americans remain stranded at airports across the nation.
There was a major storm covering most of the northern United States and Canada. Pretty much all the airlines had cancellations, but Southwest pretty much shut down.
Southwest Airlines canceled more than 2,500 flights Wednesday, 62% of its scheduled flights, and plans to cancel an estimated two-thirds of flights in the following days. Democrat and GOP elected officials and political activists demanded the Department of Transportation hold the company accountable so that customers receive full refunds and accommodations.
Southwest is starting to make restitution regarding the tickets. I don’t know about compensation for those who had to go to a hotel, but that is something they should look into. What we don’t need is some blithering idiot in the Senate showing that he is a blithering idiot.
“Southwest’s flight delays & cancellations are beyond unacceptable,” Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., tweeted Wednesday. “This is a company that got a $7 billion taxpayer bailout & will be handing out $428 million in dividends to their wealthy shareholders.”
It goes without saying that Bernie Sanders is stupid. Those dividends go into, among other things, 401K and IRA accounts. But this is Comrade Bernie, and when it comes to economics, he thinks the Soviet model is the way to go. As for the incompetent Buttplug, he managed to beclown himself with his prediction that things were going to get better.
Buttigieg in September said on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” that airline travel “is going to get better by the holidays.”
Perhaps if Secretary Buttplug had actually stayed in Washington and done his job instead of skulking off to a European Vacation, he might actually have been aware that there were issues coming up.
Nina Turner, the national co-chair of Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign, blamed the problem on Buttigieg’s outsized ambitions for higher office.
“What’s happening with the railroads, airlines & the supply chain is a result of a small city mayor being made the Secretary of Transportation as a means to pad his resume for President,” she tweeted Tuesday. “Secretary Buttigieg is a prime example of failing up.”
Buttplug’s ambitions are running towards replacing President* Bumbles Dementia Biden in 2024. There were some rumors last year that Biden’s handlers were going to force out Kamala “Heels Up” Harris as Vice President and replace her with Buttplug.
I don’t think that’s going to happen now. Harris is totally inept and when cornered, cackles like a chicken. She does does show up for work though, something Buttplug is loathe to do.
Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., chair of the Senate Commerce Committee, released a statement Tuesday that declared federal rules must be updated to prevent similar disasters in the future.
“The Committee will be looking into the causes of these disruptions and its impact to consumers,” Cantwell said. “Many airlines fail to adequately communicate with consumers during flight cancellations. Consumers deserve strong protections, including an updated consumer refund rule.”
Oh good! We’re going to see yet another example of politicians making things worse just to show that they “Care” and are “Doing something.” The last time we saw this, we ended up with the Patriot Act.
For more than a year, Republican leaders have complained Buttigieg does not take his job seriously amid a series of crises for Americans. Buttigieg was on vacation in Europe as railroad unions attempted to negotiate a deal in September to avoid a potentially disastrous strike. The secretary was on paternity leave with his husband and their two newborns for several months last year as the country faced supply chain shortages.
But weren’t we informed by the Department of Transportation that Buttplug was in constant contact with “Top Men. Top…Men.”
The Fox News story lists a number of Republicans hammering on Buttplug’s ass. (Hmm, perhaps I shouldn’t use that phrase?) That isn’t a problem for the worthless incompetent. What has to have him worrying now is that the Democrats are also fed up with him.
Buttigieg was warned by members of his own party about concerns within the airline industry before Southwest’s mass cancellations.
Cantwell, along with Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., and Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., filed a comment in November to the Department of Transportation on the need to hurry its process to finalize a rule to ensure consumers are properly refunded for cancellations and get accommodations.
Well, there are three of the most useless members of the Democrat Party in the United States Senate. They sent in a comment. I’m sure it was given all the consideration it was due.
Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Alex Padilla, D-Calif., sent a joint letter to Buttigieg in July similarly calling for rules to protect consumers from cancellations. Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James also sent Buttigieg a letter on the issue in August.
Looks like I spoke a little to soon. Fauxahontas also jumped into the fray and sent a LETTER! I’m sure it was put in the same place as the comments sent in by the other Democrats. It also shows just how worthless these Democrat Worthies actually are.
If they had been really concerned, they would have had Buttplug put in an appearance in the Senate oversight committees, had him come into their offices or even gone over to Buttplugs office in the DOT. Of course, they might have decided that showing up unannounced was a waste of time since Buttplug is never there it seems.
It’s time that they start putting pressure on the White House and get them to tell Dementia Joe that if he wants anymore ice cream, he needs to fire Pete Buttplug. Of course, that would mean that appointing Buttplug to that position was a mistake, and we all know that in his mind, Tapiocalike that it is, Dementia Joe Biden never makes mistakes. Buttplug is going to remain in place and things are going to get a lot worse.
