Good day all. Once again, the United States is reaching the point where we will not be legally able to borrow any money. As per standard operating procedure, the usual suspects are screaming that the United States is going to default and the world is going to end!
The reality is a bit different. What actually happens is the Federal Government can only spend the money it takes in. This means they’re going to have to prioritize what is going to be paid for. At the top of the list is the interest on the debt, National Defense and then other things required by the Constitution. What they can’t spend money on is all the drek, dross and garbage the tax fattened hyenas usually waste money on.
There has been an impasse between Congress and the maladministration. Mush for Brains Biden and his handlers basically want the debt ceiling open ended and with no spending cuts. This will allow them to continue looting the treasury. The Republicans in the House and a fair number in the Senate have finally understood that the United States is basically broke and that we need to completely overhaul the entire system.
Recently, the House passed a bill that would raise the debt ceiling, however it has things that Progressives hate, like spending cuts and making people actually work. Bumbles Biden has saying he would veto anything that doesn’t give him what he wants. It appears that clearer heads, (Which leaves Biden out), have prevailed and McCarthy will be meeting with Biden about the financial issues. Here are some of the details from CNN:
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has accepted an invitation to meet with President Joe Biden on May 9 about the debt ceiling, according to a source familiar, setting the stage for a high-stakes moment in the debt ceiling standoff. Biden invited all four Congressional leaders to the meeting.
I’m assuming that this means McCarthy, Jeffries, Schumer and McConnell. Jeffries, who replaced San Fran Nan, is basically a communist. Schumer is only interested in things that help Charles Schumer, McConnell is a Deep State RINO who’s only concern is his personal position and power, and McCarthy who is actually taking the lead, since he’s developing a technique for herding cats.
Biden’s calls came after Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen notified lawmakers on Monday that the US could default on its debt by June 1.
Yellen the Felon is continuing her career of being an absolute incompetent who has managed to fail upward. While I’ve already said that defaulting is not likely to happen, provided the Federal Government handles things responsibly, Yellen is stupid enough to screw this up and actually trigger the default she’s been saying will happen.
One of the problems with all this has been, as usual, Joe Biden. He hasn’t met with McCarthy since last winter. Of course, he also doesn’t think, when he does think, which is an ever increasing rarity, that he is answerable to anyone and he can do whatever he wants. I suspect someone finally told him to shut up and do as he’s told.
The House passed a package to raise the debt ceiling by $1.5 trillion last week. The bill – which includes spending cuts, beefed-up work requirements in safety net programs and other measures that Democrats would not accept – has been described by Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer as “dead on arrival” in the Senate.
Schumer is a crook, pure and simple. He is and always has been a lying vicious little weasel who has contempt for anyone who stands in his way. He has been backing Dementia Joe’s rambling refusals to talk to the Republicans. Now Biden pulled the rug out from under him and agreed to meet with McCarthy.
Following the bill’s passage in the House, Biden told reporters he would be “happy to meet with McCarthy, but not on whether or not the debt limit gets extended.” The White House has maintained that the president would only accept a clean proposal to raise the nation’s borrowing limit.
A “Clean” proposal means that all it does is allow the Federal Government to borrow more money and nothing else. Considering how previous “Clean” increases have worked, there is no way the “Deplorable Ultra MAGA Republicans in the house will let it go through. Now the brain dead psychopath is saying he will not negotiate with regards to the debt ceiling. Here are those details from Newsmax:
President Joe Biden will not negotiate over the debt ceiling during his meeting with four top congressional leaders on May 9, though he does plan to discuss starting “a separate budget process” to talk about spending priorities, the White House said on Tuesday.
“He is not going to negotiate on the debt ceiling,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. But the president “is willing to have a separate conversation about their spending, what they want to do with the budget.”
Biden is trying to show how smart and tough he is. What is actually happening is his usual stupidity along with his growing senility. Like all psychopaths, he just doesn’t care about anyone or anything other then himself and what he wants, and what he wants, besides ice cream and reruns of Matlock, is to do whatever he wants to do and screw the country.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is among those invited to the meeting, and plans to attend. But on Tuesday, he also prodded Biden to be more flexible. He said Biden has a choice: Accept the bill passed by House of Representatives Republicans or negotiate a deal with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
And now you can see the problem. Biden has never been a deal maker. He’s just been a third rate party hack who was limited in the damage he could do. Now he has been installed into the White House and thinks he’s the smartest person in the room. That is the problem of course. Biden is not the smartest person in the room, even when he’s alone. His default setting is “My way or else.”
Jean-Pierre said “it is time for the speaker and the MAGA Republicans to stop the brinksmanship and act to prevent default.”
You know, eventually, someone is going to remind those idiots just what MAGA actually means. It stands for “Make America Great Again.” Of course, this is the last thing the Democrats or Joe Biden want, and they still think that they can use MAGA as an insult. It still isn’t working.
I have a suspicion that when Dementia Joe has moments of clarity, he understands that the walls are beginning to close in around him. His boy Hoovernose might actually be indicted soon, and be put on trial. If that happens, considering the information out there from the Biden laptop, it could also force the Democrats to actually do something unheard of. Turn on a Democrat president.
For my part, I don’t see any way out of this impasse, unless the Democrats in the House and Senate actually do the right thing, for once in their miserable existences, and pass the House bill with a veto proof majority. Biden has had this happen a couple of times with things he’s said he would veto, and he’s backed down and signed the bills. Will this happen before the money runs out? Not a chance. The Democrats are to busy looking for a way to use a default for their own purposes. We shall see what happens in a few weeks.
