Good day all. As of this posting, it’s been less than 24 hours Kevin McCarthy was booted from the Speakership. Currently Rep. Patrick McHenry is filling in as acting speaker until a new one is elected. As acting speaker, McHenry doesn’t have that much power. However, he has made use of what he has and has kicked Nancy Pelosi from her office.
When Pelosi lost the House of Representatives for the Democrats for the second time, she decided to stand down from the leadership. (I suspect she was pointedly invited to step down or else) However, even though she was just another back bench drone, she still had her private office. Not anymore. Here are the details from Fox News:
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was evicted from her private Capitol office by the new speaker pro-tempore.
Fox News Digital confirmed that House Speaker pro-tempore Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., gave the order to Pelosi to vacate her Capitol hideaway by Wednesday.
McHenry’s eviction order was one of the congressman’s first acts as the top House lawmaker.
Well now, it looks like he’s trying to earn some brownie points. McHenry is, or was a big supporter of the failure known as Kevin McCarthy. Whether or not he is going to seek the Speaker’s gavel has yet to be determined.
Pelosi was notified of the eviction, first reported by Politico, in an email.
Darn. I would have loved to have a couple of Capitol Police officers show up with an eviction notice and an order to vacate this second. Oh well, you can’t always get everything you want.
The email said the former speaker’s hideaway was being reassigned “for speaker office use.”
“Please vacate the space tomorrow, the room will be re-keyed,” the email read.
Ouch! That was a nice and polite kick to the groin.
Pelosi moved out of her hideaway on Tuesday, with help from the staff of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., according to a spokesperson for the former speaker.
I’m sure that Pelosi was generous with her tips to the Jeffries Moving and Looting company.
Capitol hideaways are a mainstay in the Senate, but are a luxury only afforded to a select few House members.
Since San Fran Nan is no longer part of the leadership, and frankly, was expected to retire at the end of her current term. She should have moved out on her own some time ago. That she didn’t tells you all you need to know about how she views herself. (That would be one of the Privileged Ruling Elite)
“This eviction is a sharp departure from tradition,” Pelosi said. “As Speaker, I gave former Speaker [Dennis] Hastert a significantly larger suite of offices for as long as he wished.”
Yes, and where is he now? The last I heard, he was a convicted sex offender. (Hmm, perhaps he should ask his fellow perv, Slimy Pedo Joe Biden for a pardon)
The former speaker said office space doesn’t matter to her, “but it seems to be important to them.”
“Now that the new Republican Leadership has settled this important matter, let’s hope they get back to work on what’s truly important for the American people,” she concluded.
This from the person who demanded that the Airforce provide her a plane so she could commute to San Francisco instead of lying with the hoi polloi? This is something that McCarthy should have done when he took on the role of Speaker of the House. Instead he decided to play RINO games and break his word. You might be trying to show a brave face, but we all know just how much it hurts you that you have been reduced to just another unimportant back bencher. Allow me to show you some sympathy.
