Good day all. Since the October 7th attack on Israel by Hamas, we have seen most of the Ivy League schools, along with other second tier colleges, go full on antisemitic, demanding that Israel cease to exist.
The real problem with this is that the students and faculty, at least the really stupid ones, have resorted to flat out support of terrorism and have assaulted police and, worse yet, Jewish students. Rather then expel these little Nazis, the schools basically protected them. This led to congressional hearings and a number of resignations of college and university presidents.
Then President Trump won the 2024 election and once sworn in, began looking into the Universities and their actions with regards to the antisemites, their DEI policies and general all around discriminatory policies. Finally, President Trump pushed the button and nuked many of the colleges grants, some totaling in the billions of dollars.
Finally, Columbia University decided that they had enough of the terrorist loving scum and began actually dealing with them. They’ve also, allegedly, begun shutting down all their DEI garbage. This has set off the Leftard students and faculty who are demanding that Columbia University “Stand up to Trump!” Here are the details from NBC News:
Columbia University students, faculty, staff and alumni launched a “speak out” Monday to criticize school leaders for bowing to the Trump administration’s demands after it pulled $400 million in federal funding from the campus.
Hundreds of students, faculty, staff and alumni were taking part in the 25-hour event that organizers said was intended to amplify a growing position within the Columbia community that the school administration had caved-in to Washington and that the school’s academic freedom was under attack.
One of the things that we’ve seen over the years is that there is no academic freedom on these campuses. You will toe the Progressive WOKE line or you will be rendered a non-person. There have been several lawsuits, a fair number successful, that showed just how bad it is on these campuses. For the Leftards, “Academic Freedom only applies to them. If you are conservative, Republican, or worse, support President Trump, you will be forced out and ruined.
The administration has paused billions of dollars in federal grants and research funding at universities nationwide to target what it describes as a failure to deal with antisemitism and its handling of protests against Israel’s military action in the Gaza Strip.
It’s gotten so bad that I’m surprised no one has been shot yet. These thugs claiming to be protesters are quite violent and have attacked anyone who wouldn’t bend the knee to the destruction of Israel and a second Holocaust. Police officers have been injured by these idiots and it’s only a matter of time before one feels threatened enough to pull the trigger. This doesn’t include average students, especially Jewish students who might bring the means of self defense on campus regardless of school policies.
“All of us have dedicated our lives to both a continual process of learning but also educating,” Brooke West, a professor of social work at Columbia said, as dozens of students walked by. “But how can we do that when our students, when our institutions and academic freedom and free speech are under attack?”
David Guirgis, who will graduate next month with a master’s degree in social work, said he’s ashamed his school didn’t stand up to the administration.
“This is an all-out attack on science and academic freedom,” he said just before the rally began. “We are pioneers in biomedical research, legal research and environmental science research and all of that got cut simply because the Trump administration had a vendetta against universities.”
This clown is basically a communist. I doubt he has anything good to say about the United States and says it loudly and repeatedly. His degrees, bachelor’s and his masters, are, in my mind, all but worthless. He’s probably sitting on a couple of hundred grand in debt that he expects someone else to pay off. While I don’t know what his stand is on Israel having the nerve to defend itself against Hamas and other terrorists I think I can guess.
Columbia was the first university the administration targeted, and it acceded to several requests, including adjusting its admissions process and implementing “greater institutional neutrality.”
Basically, teach and stay out of politics. Protests are fine, riots, assaults, building takeovers, etc, or not. And stop using people’s skin color or eye shape to judge their worthiness to be admitted to the school.
“Universities’ violation of federal law, due to their blatant reluctance to protect Jewish students and defend civil rights, is unbecoming of institutions seeking billions in taxpayer funds,” White House Spokesman Harry Fields wrote in an email. “The Trump Administration remains committed to reforming higher education and combating anti-Semitism.”
The Administration did provide a very simple mechanism to restore any federal funding. (Why the taxpayers should be sending one penny to these “Centers of higher Education” is another matter) Basically, no more masks on campus, start holding these spoiled, entitled brats accountable and no discrimination. Even this is to much for those very same spoiled brats.
“This is the first time in a long time that I’ve felt embarrassed to be an alum of Columbia,” said alumna Augusta Souza Kappner. “It’s really a travesty what they are doing now to their students, faculty and staff.”
Susan Witte, a professor of social work and a rally organizer, said she is concerned the federal cuts will impede research in climate science, Alzheimer’s disease and cancer.
“It affects everyone in this country and globally,” she said. “We are getting attacked at all levels, and we believe this is a crisis at the university.”
Well then Professor, why don’t you simply go to private sources for your research funding instead of demanding that the taxpayers pay the bill? I think I know the answer to that. Allow me to quote Ray Stantz:
“Personally, I like the university. They gave us money and facilities. We didn’t have to produce anything. You’ve never been out of college. You don’t know what it’s like out there. I’ve worked in the private sector. They expect results.”
For those of you who might not know who Ray Stantz is, he was a fictional character in the original Ghostbusters movie. However, the line held true when they made the original film and it holds true today. The “Dreaded Private Sector” isn’t interested in garbage science. They are looking at things that can be used, such as new medicines and treatments. Research into the use of bongo drums to frighten away the evil climate change spirits isn’t going to get a dime from them.
Riana Elyse Anderson, an associate professor of social work, said Columbia had the chance to be bold and make a statement not only for the university but the country.
“We want them to fight back against the federal impasse, we want them to deploy every legal means necessary to challenge the federal government’s termination of our grants,” she said.
I’ve noticed an interesting trend on the moonbats complaining about the Columbia administration agreeing to clean up it’s act. The loudest crybabies appear to be holders of degrees in social work and nothing else. This isn’t surprising since these people are not known for dealing with reality that well. The reality of the situation is that the vast majority of people in the country are fed up with what is is happening on college campuses.
Students and faculty said they had some demands of their own for the university: fight back against federal attacks; protect and defend students and international scholars; re-establish diversity policies; and protect researchers.
In other words protect the criminals rioting, destroying property, attacking people and bring back racist policies. They also want taxpayer funded research into the mating habits of gnats or how the increase in the antarctic ice cap is caused by global warming.
Professors at the rally hoisted signs reading, “Columbia Fight Back,” “Defend Freedom of Speech” and “Protect our Students.”
These losers have proven they don’t care about free speech. In fact they are opposed to it. Just try saying something these moonbats don’t like, or even wearing a MAGA hat and see what happens.
Columbia’s administration may be finally seeing the writing on the wall and has come to the conclusion that it’s time to sedate and lock up the lunatics that have been running things for to long. They might also be looking at the number of applications to the university. All across the country, colleges and universities are seeing the number of applications declining. In some cases so dramatically, that the schools can’t survive.
Then there are all the lawsuits by those who have been harmed by the school’s policies. (Not just Columbia) These schools are losing the suits brought against them and the damages being awarded are climbing. Eventually, insurances companies will start denying coverage for these items, (Some may have already done so), and when a school looses, will have to pay the judgments out of pocket.
I suspect that in the near future, we’re going to see some of these garbage degrees, such as “Social Work” being dropped from college curriculum. Then all these moonbat professors will be forced to look for real jobs in the dreaded private sector. I hope they know how to work a cash register in a fast food joint.
