Good day all. As the fiery yet mostly peaceful riots get going in Los Angeles, moves are afoot in congress to deal with the Democrat run cities that are aiding illegal aliens. Now you would expect that any legislation going after sanctuary cities would have every single Democrat in congress voting against it.
Well, it looks like a few Democrats might be looking at what most of the American Population is saying and thinking, “Hmm, The Party is about as popular as a sexually transmitted disease these days. One of the reasons is all the poor, deprived migrants we let storm across the border like the Visigoths sacking Rome. Perhaps I should rethink my position if I want to keep my phony baloney job.” Now they are crossing the aisle and supporting legislation to hit the Sanctuary cities. Here are the details from Fox News:
A pair of bills cracking down on sanctuary cities passed the House of Representatives this week — with the support of multiple Democrats.
On Thursday, the House passed a bill to relocate Small Business Administration (SBA) offices from jurisdictions that shelter illegal immigrants.
Um, ok. I will state for the record that I don’t what the purpose of this is, unless it’s part of the moves to strip all federal funds from these sanctuary locations.
The legislation passed the House in a 211 to 199 vote, with five Democrats joining the GOP: Reps. Henry Cuellar of Texas, Laura Gillen of New York, Don Davis of North Carolina, Jared Golden of Maine and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington.
Well, that is interesting. It wasn’t a party line vote. I think there are two of these jokers who may be in districts that are looking to replace the current crop of deep state losers with people who will actually represent their views.
That’s despite House Democratic leaders urging lawmakers to vote against the bill.
The problem with the current House leadership, starting with Hakeem Jeffries, is that they may be looking at federal criminal charges over their threats and actions. (To be determined of course) The “Rank and File” Democrats might be starting to see the writing on the wall.
SBA offices at the regional, district and local levels would be required to relocate if the administration publicly designated their locations as sanctuary jurisdictions.
“House Republicans are holding these cities accountable for their refusal to follow immigration law and protect their citizens,” House Majority Whip Tom Emmer of Minnesota, the No. 3 House Republican, told Fox News Digital of the bill.
“Under President Trump, lawlessness that endangers the American people and prioritizes illegal aliens will not be rewarded with federal dollars and resources.”
Ok, then it is part of the move by the Administration and the Legislative branches to strip funds from the Democrat controlled Sanctuary cities.
The second bill, which passed on Friday morning, would add explicit language banning people in the U.S. illegally from obtaining SBA loans.
This surprises me. I would have thought that providing loans to criminals, and illegal aliens are criminals, that’s why they are called “Illegal” aliens, was already banned. I suspect that DOGE may have found something where the SBA did hand money to people that had no right to it.
Eight Democrats voted for that legislation — Perez, Cuellar, Gillen and Davis all voted for the bill, along with Reps. Tom Suozzi of New York, Josh Harder of California, Marcy Kaptur of Ohio and Kristen McDonald Rivet of Michigan.
That’s interesting. More Democrats decided that protecting their phony jobs was more important than party unity. Now the bill goes to the Senate. That will be interesting what with the filibuster.
The Trump administration celebrated the bipartisan vote.
“By harboring criminal illegal aliens, sanctuary cities jeopardize both the lives of American citizens and the livelihoods of our small businesses — which is exactly why the SBA is moving our field offices out of these lawless jurisdictions and into safer, more accessible communities that comply with federal law,” SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler told Fox News Digital. “This Administration is committed to ending the illegal invasion of our nation – and I am grateful for the bipartisan group of House lawmakers who voted in support of that agenda.”
I suspect that a lot of this, regarding the Democrats who voted in favor of this bill, is fallout from what is going on in Los Angeles. The polls are not being kind to the Democrat Party in any way, shape or form on their support of illegal aliens over American citizens and lawful resident aliens.
Right now, it looks like that the 2026 midterms, if the GOP doesn’t blow it yet again, are going to be a bloodbath for the Democrats. (Also a few RINO’s might be shown the door in their primaries) It will be interesting to see if this does make it through the Senate. I have no doubt at all that President Trump will sign it. I think that the GOP is finally getting a clue and have put the Democrats in a No Win situation. Time for some popcorn!
