Good day all. Forgive the clickbait sounding title, but it was the first thing that came to mind. It does seem that the DoJ is actually taking the allegations against New York Attorney General Letitia James seriously. Investigators are doing something she didn’t bother with when she want after President Trump. Looking at the properties in question.
For a bit of a refresher, Letitia James has been accused of engaging in mortgage fraud on several properties she owns. Now the prosecutor, or whatever they’re calling him, was seen checking out one of the properties in question. Here are the details from the New York Post:
Department of Justice Special Attorney Ed Martin was spotted in Brooklyn Friday inspecting Tish James’ multi-family residential property that is at the center of a federal mortgage fraud investigation.
Martin, conspicuous in a beige trench coat, visited the Clinton Hill brownstone a week after being appointed by Attorney General Pam Bondi to run parallel mortgage fraud probes into the New York attorney general and her fellow Trump-deranged Democrat, California Sen. Adam Schiff.

AG Bondi, apparently learning from her Epstein screw up, stepped back and named Ed Martin to lead the investigation. Currently he is running the Office of the Pardon Attorney in the Trump Administration. He was the interim U.S. Attorney for Washington D.C. and had been nominated by President Trump to be the U.S. Attorney for Washington D.C. However, the Deep State and RINO’s balked at him claiming he didn’t have prosecutorial experience. That was a load of crap of course. Now he has been tasked to investigate potential fraud by James and Schiffhead.
Grand juries in Virginia and Maryland are currently weighing criminal indictments for James and Schiff respectively over allegations they falsified property records to secure favorable loan terms.
From other stories I’ve been seeing, things are looking up, or down if you’re Letitia James and Adam Schiffhead with regards to criminal charges. I also think that we’re going to have a decision on this sooner rather then later.
James’ Brooklyn property at 296 Lafayette Avenue is classified as a five-unit dwelling, but James is alleged to have misrepresented the building on mortgage applications, building permits, and filings for government assistance as having only four units.
Because James apparently misstated the actual number of apartments, she was able to get a much better rate from Dannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That building has 5 apartments which would have made them ineligible for the better loan terms.
A neighbor confronted Martin and an unidentified colleague as they were standing out the front of the property and asked them what they were doing.
Oh great. The local Karen put in an appearance.
“Tell me why you’re here,” said the middle aged blonde in navy gym shorts and black tank top.
“We know who lives here . . . You’re not here about the houses. You’re here because of who lives here. It’s my neighborhood. It’s my block. I have a right to know what you guys are doing.”
Actually Karen, no you don’t and if you got in the way, well, obstructing a federal investigation is against the law. In any case. Mr. Martin was polite to this person.
Martin replied: “I’m just happy to be on a block looking at houses . . . I’m just looking at houses, interesting houses. It’s an important house.”
And he was also honest. The building is very important. It could lead to the arrest, trial, conviction and imprisonment of Letitia James.

“It’s not,” retorted the neighbor.
“It’s just like every other tract house on this block that was built by developers.”
“They’re beautiful, beautiful neighborhood,” Martin told her, before walking away.
I have the feeling that the Karen didn’t know who Miller was or why he was there. If she had, I would have bet real money that she would have gone right off the rails and done something incredibly Karenlike. In other words, blindingly stupid.
The investigation into James’ real estate holdings began in April when Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department.
Pulte alleged James may have “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms” by claiming a Norfolk, Virginia, home she bought in 2023 would be her “principal residence” while acting as New York AG, and that the property she owns in Brooklyn was her second residence.
Besides the mortgage fraud on the house in Virginia, that she was claiming it as her primary residence should have rendered her ineligible to be the New York Attorney General. In short, Letitia James has managed to dig a nice deep hole for herself.
The case also includes allegations that James and her father signed mortgage papers listing themselves as “husband and wife” to meet lending rules.
I’ve said this before, but what is it with the Democrat Party and incest? This was allegedly the same stunt, for different reasons, that Rep. Ilhan Omar pulled. In her case, I believe it was her brother.
Special attorneys are empowered to conduct criminal proceedings, including grand jury investigations and prosecutions, usually in sensitive or high-profile cases, and can operate outside the district where the case is pending.
I actually looked this up. If I am reading the statute correctly, a special attorney is empowered to do a full investigation and bring things to a grand jury. I don’t think they actually prosecute a case. I have no doubt that Mr. Martin has several people on staff who are federal prosecutors as well as a few investigators who specialize in fraud cases. In any case, if there is any “There” there, Letitia James is not going to be a very happy camper. (President Trump, on the other hand, will be ecstatic)
