Democrats not happy with MSNBC becoming MS NOW

Good day all. Recently, Comcast announced it was spinning off a number of their cable channels into a new, independent company called Versant. This includes MSNBC. However, it wasn’t just setting MSNBC and others up in a new company. It also involves a number of significant changes.

For MSNBC, these changes are massive. They have been kicked out of their old studio spaces, they have lost access to all the original NBC resources and were told that NBC as an entity wanted no connection to MSNBC.

This has forced MSNBC to rebrand itself, and the name they’ve chosen is MS NOW. This isn’t making the Leftards, Progressives, Liberals or Democrats very happy. In fact, they are downright annoyed. Here are the details from Newsmax:

MSNBC, long a politically progressive cable news channel, will no longer carry the NBC brand following its planned rebranding later this year.

Now here comes the marketing propaganda where they try to make this sound like it’s a great idea.

In a bold and controversial move, MSNBC is set to rebrand as MS NOW (short for My Source News Opinion World) later this year, shedding its legendary NBC-derived name and iconic Peacock logo.

They didn’t have much of a choice on that since Comcast/NBC kicked them out. NBC wants nothing to do with the Leftard lunatics of what was MSNBC. Think of this as a particularity nasty divorce where NBC gets the house, the bank accounts and the pet dog and MSNBC gets a nice restraining order.

As part of Comcast’s plan to spin off its cable networks into a publicly traded entity called Versant, the change has ignited sharp partisan reactions and raised broader concerns about the network’s aging brand and shrinking viewership.

The new branding is designed to forge an independent identity and reduce confusion between opinion-driven MS NOW and straight-news NBC News.

I suspect it’s more along the lines of NBC saying “They’re finally gone! Now we don’t have to apologize any longer for those crazies.” Unfortunately, some aren’t taking the breakup very well.

Progressive staffers and many loyal MSNBC viewers expressed dismay on social media and in internal discussions, venting that the name change feels like a demotion for a once?prominent network.

“MS is the new BS,” one insider quipped, while others dismissed the new name as bland or lacking credibility.

I hate to be the one to break it to you pal, but it doesn’t matter if the name is MSNBC or MS NOW. It always was and will continue to be BS.

Democrats and left-leaning viewers are particularly distressed — not only by the branding shift, but by what many see as symbolic damage to MSNBC’s identity and journalistic weight.

Journalistic weight? If they were any more lightweight, they would be able to lift objects into orbit.

The network has long positioned itself as a progressive voice in a polarized media landscape, and for many, the NBC affiliation lent it prestige and legitimacy. Losing that, critics argue, could undermine its influence.

In other words, we were barking at the moon and hiding under the skirts of NBC when people looked at us and then wagged their fingers at us. As for influence? What influence? No one other then the extreme Left paid any attention to you. The old Soviet newspapers, Pravda and Izvestia had more credibility then MSNBC ever did.

Conversely, conservative voices welcomed the news enthusiastically.

Republicans and right-leaning commentators have interpreted the rebrand as a sign of MSNBC’s decline.

It’s rather hard to decline when you have imploded.

Satirical nicknames such as “Most Surely No One Watching” and “Majorly Skewed News Overly Woke” proliferated online, emblematic of the partisan delight in the network’s perceived stumble.

Yes, the Meme’s are already starting to flow. I’m going to need to make a few new ones myself, or perhaps liberate a few that I find worthy.

Analysts suggest the fallout goes beyond optics.

The move underscores broader challenges confronting cable news — cord-cutting, digital disruption, and dwindling ratings.

In point of fact, MSNBC/MS NOW’s ratings have pretty much collapsed. They are neck and neck in a race for total irrelevance with CNN. Of course, CNN gets to keep their name, so there is that in there favor. The Newsmax article then provides a few stats on MSNBC’s all but nonexistent ratings. I”m not going to bother. To be perfectly honest, they suck dead donkey dicks.

Although “The Rachel Maddow Show” remained among the few non-Fox programs to crack the top 15 cable news slots, overall momentum has clearly slowed.

Add to this Rachel Madcow only works one night a week for which she is paid stupid amounts of money. I wonder if her show is actually generating profits or if she’s just another Stephen Colbert?

Industry observers warn the rebranding might be interpreted as not just a corporate reorientation, but a demotion — if not to obscurity, then to niche status.

Without the cachet of the NBC brand and Peacock imagery, MS?NOW risks further audience erosion just as it attempts to distinguish itself in an oversaturated market.

I don’t think that is going to be the problem. Other then the name change, the loss of their studios and their access to the NBC News resources, not much is going to change for them. They’re still going to be the same old irrelevant barking moonbats.

Supporters argue the rebrand offers a fresh start. Network President Rebecca Kutler, for her part, has promised a substantial marketing campaign to launch MS?NOW and has insisted the editorial focus will remain consistent.

I wonder how they will pay for that marketing campaign? One of the problems they’re facing now is that the network has been cut off from “Daddy’s” credit cards. They’re going to have to pay for things out of their own revenue and it doesn’t look like they really have any.

What a few people in the industry are thinking is that in the next 6-12 months, MS Now is going to announce massive layoffs and on air personalities not getting new contracts when their old ones expire. They’ve already thrown a few lunatics off the payroll, (Joy Reid), and they can’t afford to just set fire to money. Like all Socialist organizations, eventually the money runs out. I won’t be at all surprised if, in a year or so, MS NOW just shuts down and the remains sold for scrap.
