Another government shutdown is looming. Democrats panicking

Good day all. I wrote this before the shutdown, but other events took precedence.

Once again, the United States Government is about to run out of money. As usual, the Congress is trying to come up with a Continuing Resolution to allow the government to continue spending money. Actually, this isn’t entirely accurate. Basically the government won’t be able to borrow any more money to waste on boondoggles.

The idea of a continuing resolution is that it will extend the time the government can borrow money until Congress passes an actual budget. Generally, when a CR is being put together, both sides see this as a chance to spend more money on things the general public doesn’t want. The Democrats are by far the worst offenders.

In the past, when there was a shutdown coming or actually happening, the Democrats have used this as a tool to beat on the Republican party and coerce them into caving in on more liberal spending plans. However, the times, they have changed. The Republicans have passed a CR in the House and sent it to the Senate. The Republicans in the Senate are generally fine with the bill. The Democrats, since it doesn’t give them more power, are opposed and won’t allow it to pass, triggering a shutdown.

This time, the GOP has said “Fine. Go ahead and close it down. All you will be doing is hurting yourselves. The Administration will still have taxes coming in, (Especially with the new tariffs), and will simply redirect funds to mission critical parts of the government.” It looks like this may have sunk into the heads of Jeffries and Schumer. They want to meet with President Trump to get him to give them what they want.To bad it’s not happening. Here are the details from Fox News:

President Donald Trump canceled a meeting with top congressional Democrats on Tuesday over “unserious and ridiculous demands” as the deadline to fund the government fast approaches.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., were set to meet with Trump on Thursday to discuss a path forward to avert a partial government shutdown before the Sept. 30 deadline. But Trump nixed the meeting in a lengthy post on his social media platform Truth Social, where he blasted the duo for pushing “radical Left policies that nobody voted for.”

“I have decided that no meeting with their Congressional Leaders could possibly be productive,” Trump said.

The now canceled meeting with Trump came on the heels of a letter from Schumer and Jeffries sent over that weekend where the top congressional Democrats laid the possibility of a shutdown on his and Republicans’ feet.

Yeah, good luck with that. The Republicans provided a Continuing Resolution that will allow the government to borrow money until the budgets are finally passed. The problem is the Democrats. They want to blow out the budget and send money to their cronies who will then launder it and send it back to people like Schumer and Pelosi.

They argued that the Trump-backed short-term extension was “dirty,” which would mean it had partisan policy riders or spending attached to it, and panned it for continuing “the Republican assault on healthcare,” ignoring expiring Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium subsidies, and possibly leading to the closure of hospitals and other healthcare facilities across the country.

The Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, has been a complete disaster. No one wanted it and when it was imposed on America, (Thank you John Roberts, you useless tool), it killed the private insurance market.

“With the September 30th deadline fast approaching, Republicans will bear responsibility for another painful government shutdown because of the refusal of GOP congressional leadership to even talk with Democrats,” they wrote at the time.

Why should President Trump give you the time of day? You have time and time again shoved things down America’s throats that they never wanted and used the treasury as your own personal piggy bank. No one believes or trusts you any longer and President Trump is having none of your usual drivel.

But Trump argued that their bill would allow for the nearly $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts in his “big, beautiful bill” to be repealed, and also blasted the Democratic continuing resolution (CR) for ending his megabill’s $50 billion rural hospital fund.

“We must keep the Government open, and legislate like true Patriots rather than hold American Citizens hostage, knowing that they want our now thriving Country closed,” he said.

Actually Mr. President, most people are just fine with the Government closing down. I know I am.

“I’ll be happy to meet with them if they agree to the Principles in this Letter,” Trump continued. “They must do their job! Otherwise, it will just be another long and brutal slog through their radicalized quicksand. To the Leaders of the Democrat Party, the ball is in your court. I look forward to meeting with you when you become realistic about the things that our Country stands for. DO THE RIGHT THING!”

The short version of this is “Nice try Schumer, but this is all on you. We provided a bill, you decided to play politics, so screw you.

Schumer and Jeffries last month demanded a meeting with Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., and House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., to strike a deal, given that Thune will need Democratic support in the Senate.

However, that meeting has so far not come to fruition — though Thune has pushed back on Schumer’s characterization and argued that if the Democratic leader wants to talk, it’s on him to make it happen.

Thune and the Republicans have about had it with the Democrats. UpChuck Schumer has lied through his teeth for decades and done tremendous damage to the country. His basic philosophy has always been “Me First, The Party second, everyone else? They aren’t important.”

With all the Democrat inspired violence over the last 10 years, culminating in the two attempts on President Trump and the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the Republican base has had it with Schumer and the Democrats. They are not going to put up with their garbage any longer. President Trump came back into office with a mandate and an attitude of “We’re going to Make America Great Again come Hell or high water and the Democrats can get on board or get the hell out of the way.”

Personally, I think that the Democrats are going to let the money run out and try to blame this on President Trump and the GOP. While they will have their sycophants in the Legacy Media, aka the Democrat Propaganda Corps, the Trump administration is ready and prepared to deal with the Democrats. Additionally, President Trump will be able to use the shutdown to redirect money to things that are actually useful.

This will have the side benefit of telling all those Obama and Biden judges who have been ordering President Trump to restore funding to universities and NGO’s to go pound sand. “Sorry, there isn’t any money. Thanks for playing.” If played right, this is going to blow up in the faces of Schumer and the Democrats big time.
