Good day all. This is a breaking story, but it looks like Eric Adams is out of the race for Mayor of New York. This ends the story of one of the more incompetent mayors and sets the stage for the election of the absolute worst mayor New York will ever have.
Adams was elected back in 2021 after the two horrendous terms of Bill de Blasio. When he ran, people thought he couldn’t be any worse then de Blasio. The voters were wrong. Eventually, Adams crossed Dementia Joe Biden and his handlers sicced Merrick Garland on him. The city has been going into the dumpster and he has shown he had no clue what to do to fix things. Make them worse? He was quite good at that. Now he’s seen the writing on the wall and pulled the plug. Here are the details from Fox News:
New York City Mayor Eric Adams dropped out of the city’s mayoral race on Sunday, halting his re-election campaign just five weeks before Election Day.
Adams announced his decision in a nearly nine-minute video posted on social media, offering no clues about his plans after leaving office.
I won’t bother tracking down the video. I’m sure it consists of 8 minutes and 40 seconds of drivel.
“It’s been an honor to be your mayor,” Adams said in his announcement, as he highlighted what he described as achievements related to crime reduction, housing affordability and economic recovery during his time in office.
“And yet despite all that we have achieved, I cannot continue my re-election campaign,” he said, adding that he was unable to raise the funds for a “serious campaign.”
He can’t raise funds because no one wants him back in office.
The move followed weeks of speculation he might clear the way for former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a contest where Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, has gained momentum.
Cuomo has almost the same chance of winning as Adams. Slim and none and Slim was seen heading for the exit. On the Republican side you have Curtis Sliwa, but no one is giving him any chance at all. This leaves Comrade Zohan Mamdani who is probably going to be the next, and potentially last mayor of New York.
Mamdani has placed affordability at the center of his campaign to lead America’s largest city, pitching ideas such as free buses, city-owned grocery stores, and rent freezes for tenants in rent-stabilized apartments.
Basically, the Commie wants to create a soviet style system in New York. He plans to pay for it by seizing the property and money of pretty much anyone who owns or produces anything in the city. The one tiny detail that Commie has missed is that all of the wealthy people and those who actually produce things are already preparing to flee the city.
Those proposals have energized progressive voters but rattled Wall Street, where executives warn they could drive investment out of New York and weaken the city’s tax base.
That’s a very nice way of saying that this communist anti-American moron is going to bankrupt the city and that his plans to steal everyone’s money is going to run aground on the reality that they’re already running as far away as they can from him and the rest of the moonbats running the state.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Wednesday that Mamdani’s proposals risk driving New York City into financial crisis, warning that if the city turns to Washington for a bailout, it won’t receive one.
“You can’t enact policies like this and expect to be bailed out,” Bessent said during an interview with FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo on “Mornings with Maria.”
That idiot Mamdani probably thinks just that, that Uncle Sam will ride to the financial rescue. It didn’t happen the last time and it won’t be happening this time. He will no doubt demand a bail out and the response will be “Drop Dead.”
The New York election will be interesting to say the least. They are already in trouble financially, although it could be corrected with a little hard work and a willingness to make a few hard decisions. The problem is the Democrats won’t make those decisions as Adams demonstrated. Perhaps fiction might become reality and New York City will become a federal Maximum Security prison, ala Escape from New York.
