Oops! Baldwin did it again!

Good day all. Once again, Alec Baldwin has demonstrated that he should not be let near, let alone handle, anything that is more complicated then a pencil. On October 13th, he managed to crash his SUV into a tree.

Fortunately this time he didn’t kill or injure anyone with his recklessness. His brother, Stephen Baldwin was in the car with him, but unlike a certain camera woman, survived uninjured. As usual, Alec Baldwin is blaming everyone else. Here are those details from the New York Post:

Emmy-award-winning actor Alec Baldwin plowed his Range Rover into a tree while cruising through the Hamptons with his brother on Monday, according to photos shared with The Post. Baldwin, 67, was photographed looking disheveled and annoyed as he made a call and stood with his hands in his pockets at the crash site.

There is a picture in the NY Post article. I would suggest taking a look at it. He has the exact same look he did when he was on the phone after gunning down to people, killing one, on the set of the movie Rust. (FYI, that film bombed badly at the box office)

His car, a white Range Rover, was smashed in the front after crashing head-on into a tree on the side of Montauk Highway in the East Hamptons, where the actor owns a ritzy summer home.

It takes real talent to crash into a tree unless one of several things occurred. One, he was drunk. This doesn’t appear to be the case. Two, he was driving recklessly. That might be the case here. Three, he was avoiding a potential serious accident. That’s what he’s claiming.

The actor sat in the same clothes he wore during the crash as he provided a long-winded and rambling explanation about his vehicular mishap, which he blamed on a “garbage truck the size of a whale,” he said cut him off.

To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree, I hit a big, fat tree and crushed my car – my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. But it’s all fine, I’m fine, and my brother’s fine,” he said.

As the saying goes, Baldwin’s version of events doesn’t actually match the reality of the situation. These days, everyone has a dashcam and this was no exception. Here are those details from Newsmax:

Newsmax has obtained exclusive dashcam footage that appears to contradict Alec Baldwin’s account of how he and his brother Stephen Baldwin were involved in a car crash Monday afternoon.

The 1-minute, 29-second front-facing video, taken from the commercial truck Alec Baldwin claims cut him off, shows the truck making a legal right turn onto Montauk Highway in East Hampton, New York, before Alec Baldwin’s white Range Rover comes into view — and moments later, slams into a tree along the roadside.

That doesn’t surprise me. Alec Baldwin is an arrogant narcissistic jerk who thinks everyone else needs to get out of his way because he’s important.

The footage begins with the truck exiting a parking lot and making a routine right turn. Roughly 30 seconds in, Alec Baldwin’s vehicle appears to attempt to pass the truck on the right, before veering onto the shoulder and striking a large tree head-on. The video then captures the aftermath, including the Range Rover’s crumpled front end.

Passing on the right is basically a no no, especially on a small road. There are exceptions of course, but it doesn’t look like this was one of them. Now, as was mentioned above, Quick draw Baldwin claimed he was trying to avoid a crash with the garbage truck and posted this excuse on Instagram. I suspect he didn’t consider the possibility that a commercial vehicle might have a dashcam mounted.

The dashcam footage obtained by Newsmax tells a different story. The truck Alec Baldwin blamed for “cutting him off” does not appear to impede his path. Instead, the footage shows Alec Baldwin’s vehicle attempting to maneuver around the truck after it had already completed its turn.

There is no visible indication that the truck forced Alec Baldwin from his lane, nor any sudden obstruction requiring evasive action. Seconds later, his SUV loses control and crashes into the tree.

So much for Baldwin’s attempt to blame it on everyone else. Now the police are probably investigating this and you can bet that dashcam footage is going to be examined with a fine tooth comb. I don’t know if any laws were broken, but if any where, it’s Baldwin who’s going to get the ticket. I also have zero doubt that his car insurance is going to be going up, probably pretty significantly once his insurance company sees the video.

The good news is that Stephen Baldwin, Alec’s younger and much smarter brother, wasn’t injured in the crash. I suspect he was wearing a belt and the airbags may have blown once Alec chose to become one with nature and introduce the front end of the car with the tree. The second bit of good news is that the company that owns the truck, thanks to the dashcam, will be shown to be not liable for the accident. I have no doubt that won’t make Alec Baldwin happy.

Another thing that isn’t going to make Baldwin happy is that a brand new crop of memes are going to start dropping, such as the one I made at the top of this post. It is a nice dig on Baldwin managing not to spend 10 years or so in prison after gunning down a camera woman and his director. However, I was chatting with someone the other day during a safety briefing and came up with this one.

Baldwin would do the world a favor by just retiring into obscurity, only to be remembered when his films pop up on a streaming service. He certainly should be let anywhere near anything with the potential to hurt others. He’s show that he is untrustworthy and unsafe.
