Good day all. Another shoe has dropped in the draining of the Beltway swamp. John Bolton, the former National Security Advisor has been indicted on a number of charges.
John Bolton was once a person that Republican administrations would go to for his foreign policy chops. He garnered a great deal of respect and this was one of the reasons that President Trump brought him on board as his National Security Advisor. He soon realized it was a mistake, especially when President Trump turned an airstrike on Iran around and aborted the mission. Soon after, Bolton was fired.
That set off Bolton and he went hard into the TDS suffering never Trump camp. However, he was also looking out for himself and his “Place in history” and he took classified documents out of the White House without permission. Now the other shoe has dropped and Bolton has been indicted. Here are the details from Fox News:
Former White House National Security Advisor John Bolton was indicted Thursday on 18 counts related to the improper handling of classified materials, Fox News Digital has learned. According to the indictment, Bolton was indicted on eight counts of transmission of National Defense Information and ten counts of retention of National Defense information.
This was what the Biden Maladministration tried to pin on President Trump when they conducted the panty raid on Mar-a-lago. It was also what Dementia Joe Biden did for decades before he was installed as President in 2021. The difference between all three is that President Trump was the president at the time and legally can declassify anything. Neither Biden or Bolton had any authority to possess those documents at all.
“From on or about April 9, 2018, through at least on or about August 22, 2025, BOLTON abused his position as National Security Advisor by sharing more than a thousand pages of information about his day-to-day activities as the National Security Advisor—including information relating to the national defense which was classified up to the TOP SECRET/SCI level—with two unauthorized individuals, namely Individuals 1 and 2,” the indictment reads. “BOLTON also unlawfully retained documents, writings, and notes relating to the national defense, including information classified up to the TOP SECRET/SCI level, in his home in Montgomery County, Maryland.”
From the earlier reports the two individuals listed were Bolton’s wife and daughter. That they weren’t named seems to indicate that the DoJ isn’t going to go after them. Potentially, they might not have known that the documents were in fact classified. The Fox story then goes into what the documents were about. I’m not going to bother reviewing them and recommend that you read it for yourself. Suffice to say, this is stuff that you don’t want getting out into the world.
“The FBI’s investigation revealed that John Bolton allegedly transmitted top secret information using personal online accounts and retained said documents in his house in direct violation of federal law,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “The case was based on meticulous work from dedicated career professionals at the FBI who followed the facts without fear or favor. Weaponization of justice will not be tolerated, and this FBI will stop at nothing to bring to justice anyone who threatens our national security.”
As I recall, the investigation into Bolton’s mishandling of the documents began under President Trump’s first administration. When Garland became AG, the investigation basically ended since Bolton was all Never Trump. Once President Trump returned and put some honest people into place at the DoJ, they started reviewing the evidence and proceeded.
Bolton’s Maryland home had been raided by FBI agents in August. That search was focused on classified documents agents believed Bolton possessed.
Which he apparently did have. Why that moron didn’t burn everything is beyond me. I suspect he was to arrogant to think he had to dispose of the incriminating evidence. The FBI found a cornucopia of incriminating things.
A source familiar with the early stages of the investigation told Fox News Digital that CIA Director John Ratcliffe provided Patel with limited access to U.S. intelligence that served as the basis for the search warrant. The source told Fox News Digital that the evidence justified the raid on Bolton’s home.
“I can’t give you any more details than that, but let’s just say that John Bolton really had some nerve to attack Trump over his handling of classified information,” the source told Fox News Digital after the August raid.
All of this could have been done by the first Trump DoJ in 2019 and 2020. The question is why wasn’t it? The answer? Bob Barr was not interested and Christopher Wray was actively working to get President Trump. However, as the old saying goes, elections matter. You also have a president who has been, among other things, preparing for his return to office.
This whole thing got started when Bolton published a book, “The Room Where it Happened.” The DoJ claimed that the book contained classified information. Now, as I understand it, if you work with classified information and then write a book, it has to be submitted to the government to make sure nothing classified was included, either intentionally or accidentally. As I understand it, Bolton didn’t do this.
The Justice Department under Trump’s first administration argued that Bolton’s 2020 memoir, “The Room Where It Happened,” contained classified material and sought to block its publication. A federal judge ultimately allowed the book to be published.
That was what caused the original investigation. It was just getting underway when we had the Tainted election of 2020. Once Biden and his handlers got into the White House, they promptly moved to protect all their friends and allies and go after all the Democrat’s enemies, starting with President Trump.
In June 2021, the Biden Justice Department abandoned both a criminal inquiry and civil lawsuit against Bolton over the memoir, ending the legal battle at that time.
Well, the wheel has turned and now “The Stache” is going to be facing a jury. The Leftard Democrats are going to claim that President Trump is weaponizing the DoJ, but, as usual, the Trump/Bondi DoJ is going to do something the Democrats never do. Bring receipts. In this case, the receipts are all the classified documents recovered by the FBI when they searched his home and office. Now, John Bolton’s fate will be in the hands of a jury.
