Good day all, It’s…Monty Python’s Flying Circus The Angry Webmaster. I just read that Taiwan has become the first to go under Obama’s Magical Misery bus. Taiwan recently asked to buy some F-16’s to defend its self from the People’s Republic of China.
The PRC has always said that Taiwan was their property and has stated they will invade and conquer the island nation if they should declare formal independence. There has been shooting in the past between the two “nations” and Taiwan would like to not be enslaved to a totalitarian regime.
Now, some due diligence from me. My wife is a citizen of the PRC and would support her country if an incident arose. I would like to avoid that if possible. (Along with a large number of Taiwanese and not a few Chinese)
As I was saying, Taiwan asked to buy some F-16’s. Normally this would have been approved. Not this time of course! Our “Great Big Doofus Leader” Barry Obama has said “No new airplanes for you! I owe the PRC a lot of money and they said you can’t have them. By the way, can you wipe the oil from the frame of my bus as I run you over? That’s a good guy!”
Taiwan is a full democracy where people vote for their representatives. It wasn’t always like that, but they’ve come a long way. Taiwan has always been a good friend of the U.S. And frankly, hasn’t been treated as such by the morons in Washington. However, this one really takes the cake. Obama and his cronies would love to send more goodies to Pakistan, but there is that little problem of them HIDING BIN LADEN from us.
There is a long story about this on the Defense News web site. The short version is that we’ll upgrade the F-16’s but won’t let the Taiwanese replace the air frames. As any pilot knows, fighters are put under a lot of stress and eventually the frame just plain wears out and you have to replace it.
A little background from the Defense News:
In July, the U.S. State Department indicated a final decision on the F-16 issue would be made by Oct. 1 Since 2006, the U.S. has repeatedly denied Taiwan’s request for 66 F-16C/D Block 50/52s, a prospective sale estimated at more than $8 billion.
The planes would replace 60 F-5 Tigers and 60 Mirage 2000-5s due for retirement within five to 10 years.
China has called the sale a “red line.” A recent editorial in the state-controlled People’s Daily called for the use of a “financial weapon” against the U.S. if new F-16s were released.
The U.S. decision comes as a blow to the self-ruled island’s effort to counter China’s growing military, whose first aircraft carrier began sea trials last week, and therefore to its independence.
There are fears that losing Taiwan could spell the end of U.S. power projection in the region. Losing Taiwan would “change everything from the operational arch perspective to the posture of Japan and the U.S.” in the region, said Raytheon’s Asia president, Walter Doran, a retired admiral who once commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
So, China threatened to use “Financial weapons” against the United States. What are they going to do? Call in the $1 TRILLION DOLLARS we owe them? No problem! We’ll just fire up the printing presses. Those dollars won’t be worth the linen they’re printed on, but the debt will be paid in full.
Of course the wimps and weasels who got us into this financial mess are to busy wetting their pants to stand up to China. The other thing this will do is help increase U.S. Unemployment. Those new aircraft would keep the assembly lines open and thousands of skilled workers, (Highly paid workers) employed and paying taxes to fund Obama’s socialist dreams.
From the Defense News:
A June report by the Perryman Group, a Texas-based economic and financial analysis firm, estimated that Taiwan’s F-16C/D program would create more than 16,000 jobs and almost $768 million in U.S. federal tax revenue. Much of that tax revenue and new jobs would go to election battleground states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Texas and Utah.
Obama will carry California. They’re stupid and in the process of committing Seppuku. Connecticut is iffy but will probably fall in line. Maryland is also iffy, but will probably back Obama. The others? They are already preparing Obama’s farewell parties.
Taiwan is being offered upgrade packages, but apparently, not new and more powerful engines. That would be the equivalent of overhauling a Ford Mustang but putting in a VW Beetle engine. What a said state of affairs.
Hopefully the next President, (Who WON’T be Obama), will reverse this and throw all our support to Taiwan. We need to get rid of the democraps and the “Real Politik” Republicans asap. It’s time we cut lose those who won’t back us and throw all our support to those nations that do. This means Taiwan and Israel. (There are others and if I didn’t mention you I apologize)
I would strongly recommend you call your Reps and ask them what they think about this knife to the back of another one of our good friends.
Thatisall
