Good day all. It’s well known that George Soros has backed every anti-freedom group in existence. He is on record as saying that he hated the United States and Americans. His funding of NGO’s have done major damage to the United States. He’s also gone after private individuals, such as Elon Musk.
Chuck Ross of the Washington Free Beacon has published a story on how one of these NGO’s has been trying to destroy TwitterX and Elon Musk in England. Here are those details from the Washington Times:
The left-wing philanthropy funded by George Soros, Open Society Foundations (OSF), bankrolls a British nonprofit that works to censor conservative news websites and social media companies, including through a plot to “kill” Elon Musk’s X by pressuring advertisers and investors to boycott the company.
I have read about the threats by the Starmer Regime to arrest Americans for posting things the Regime doesn’t like. The attempts continue but have, in general, been met with mirth, laughs and assorted memes, such as this one.
OSF gave $250,000 last year to the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) for “general support,” according to the Soros charity’s grant database. The CCDH, under the guise of stopping “the spread of online hate and disinformation,” has pressured social media companies’ investors and advertisers to censor supposed “disinformation” or other content it deems to be offensive.
The funny thing about these groups dedicated to “Countering hate speech” is just how much they hate any opinion they disagree with and the lengths they will go to suppress it. While there are many things out there that I dislike, such as Tucker Carlson’s apparent antisemitism, I have not called for him to be deplatformed or censored. I just ignore him the way I ignore all such morons, right or left. (Although more on the left these days)
The grant, which has not been reported, could resurrect a longstanding battle that Musk has waged with both the CCDH and Soros. Musk has accused Soros of “crimes against humanity” and funding groups involved in violent protests across the country this year. And he has called the CCDH a “criminal organization” and said he was “going after” the group’s donors over its efforts to harm X’s finances.
Elon Musk has the money to pretty much buy the British Isles. Soros, while he has lots of money, flat out doesn’t have the resources if and when Elon decides to drop one of his SpaceX rockets on him, virtually speaking of course. (Even Elon wouldn’t want to waste a rocket on Soros, unless it was a bottle rocket…with a wet fuse)
Last year, the CCDH quietly organized a campaign to “kill Musk’s Twitter” by pressuring advertisers to cut ties with the company, according to memos published by Racket News.
Well, there is some good news on this front. Advertisers are coming to the conclusion that backing Leftard demands won’t make them any money. You might call this the “Sidney Sweeney Effect.” (And I don’t know about you, but Ms. Sweeney definitely has an effect on me!)
The CCDH, which the watchdog group Capital Research Center calls a “UK-based censorship advocacy group,” met with 16 congressional offices to discuss Musk’s lawsuit against the organization, and held “policy engagement” meetings with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.).
Amy Klobuchar has a long history of working to censor speech she doesn’t like. She had no problem with Twitter and the other Socialist Media platforms taking down posts and banning users who said something that the Democrat Party didn’t like or didn’t want to gain an audience. I’m not at all surprised that she is talking with a foreign group that is pushing censorship.
The nonprofit also lobbied American policymakers toward the creation of an “independent digital regulator,” according to Racket News.
Good luck with that. It was actually tried under the Biden Maladministration and the resultant political explosion was nuclear in it’s effects.
The revelation of the Soros grant helps answer longstanding questions about the CCDH’s funding. In 2023, Rep. Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) subpoenaed the CCDH for a list of its donors as part of an investigation of the firm’s alleged collusion to censor social media platforms.
I have no information on whether or not he was able to get the list or not.
The grant revelation comes as the Trump administration sets its sights on the Soros operation and the CCDH. President Donald Trump called over the summer for Soros and his son Alex, the chairman of OSF, to be investigated for allegedly funding violent riots across the country. The Soroses have denied the allegation.
Of course they are denying the allegation that they were funding the riots. If that were proven, the Soros financial empire would be destroyed and both George and Alex Soros would probably end up dying in prison.
The CCDH has also targeted conservative news websites as part of its broad push for online censorship. In 2020, the CCDH petitioned Google to ban ads from the Federalist and Zero Hedge because of comments on articles related to the George Floyd protests the CCDH deemed to be racist.
I recall that attempt. They considered anyone who said anything in support of the officers, pointing out that Floyd was loaded with a lethal amount of Fentanyl or was anything less then the second coming of Martin Luther King to be flat out racists who should be jailed.
The CCDH went to bat for Soros in another attack against the conservative Daily Wire, owned by Ben Shapiro. The group published a lengthy report in January 2023 asserting Google allowed Daily Wire to run ads for its website when users searched for terms like “George Soros evil” and “why does George Soros hate America.”
So basically, they were acting as a front for George Soros, at least in this instance? Color me surprised. The story concludes by showing that the CCDH has never gone after anti-Israel sites. This doesn’t surprise me since besides the United States, George Soros isn’t a fan of Israel. I won’t bother going over the reports that as a teenager during the War, Soros was handing Jews over to the Nazis and stealing their stuff. I’ve heard the only reason he wasn’t hanged after the war was his age.
Now the Soros organizations and the NGO’s they own support are in the gun sights of both Elon Musk and the Trump Administration. That is not a good place to be. Just ask Disney regarding Gina Carano.
