Good day all. More and more information is coming out regarding the United States raid into Venezuela to capture and remove Nicolás Maduro from power. The operation took three hours with only a few injuries and some damage to a helicopter.
One group that is very unhappy with the turn of events is, unsurprisingly, The Democrats. The Trump administration kept the entire operation close to the vest and didn’t alert Congress until it was underway. Now the Democrats are in full screech mode. Here are some of the details from Lifezette:
Democratic lawmakers sharply criticized President Donald Trump’s overnight military operation in Venezuela on Saturday, while Republicans largely praised the action that resulted in the capture and federal indictment of socialist leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
The U.S. operation marked a major escalation in American involvement in Venezuela and prompted immediate reaction on Capitol Hill.
Like we didn’t see that coming. The Democrats have decided that anything that hurts America is a good thing and anything that benefits America and it’s citizens must be stopped. Shutting off the supply of illegal narcotics and removing the people involved in facilitating the drug trafficking helps America and therefor is a bad thing.
Democrats argued the President lacked legal authority to carry out the operation and claimed it ran counter to U.S. interests.
Actually he does have the authority. As to running counter to the interests of the United States? Bullshit. What it runs counter to is the interests of the Democrat Party.
Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego, a Democrat who has been reported to have presidential ambitions, condemned the action in an early-morning post on X shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.
“Second unjustified war in my life time,” Gallego wrote.
Here’s the problem for this loser. What war? There is no war. There are no American troops on the ground in Venezuela. This was a raid. In, complete the mission and get out. Gallego might also consider that the People’s Republic of China was talking with Maduro, who stole the last election, and was looking to set up a base. There is a reason for the existence of the Monroe Doctrine and President Trump is reasserting it.
Democratic Sen. Andy Kim of New Jersey accused senior members of the Trump administration of misleading Congress about the intent of the operation. Kim specifically named Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in his criticism.
“Secretaries Rubio and Hegseth looked every Senator in the eye a few weeks ago and said this wasn’t about regime change,” Kim wrote on X.
It wasn’t. Maduro didn’t win the last election, he stole it. Now, perhaps, the actual winners of that election will be able to take office as they should have and start repairing the damage decades of socialism and tyranny brought on Venezuela by Hugo Chaves and Nicolas Maduro. Oh wait. You liked what Maduro and Chavez did and want to emulate it in the United States, don’t you?
Kim also claimed the military action endangered Americans in Venezuela and across the region.
Oh I don’t’ think so. This isn’t the Biden maladministration. President Trump has demonstrated that harming Americans is not conducive to long life for those threatening Americans. Next up on the lists of stupid libtards is Representative James McGovern.
“He says we don’t have enough money for healthcare for Americans—but somehow we have unlimited funds for war??” Connecticut Rep. Jim McGovern, the ranking Democrat on the House Rules Committee, wrote on X.
Did McGovern actually say that? Has he not been paying attention to all the fraud that’s been and continues to be uncovered? Now they are digging into medicaid and other socialist government paid for medical care systems. The last I saw, the estimate of the amounts stolen was over $9 billion dollars and they are just starting to follow all the money. He might want to reconsider that line of thought, considering that most of the fraud so far discovered has been under Democrat controlled states.
Now it’s early yet and things are in flux. President Trump announced after the raid that the United States would be running Venezuela until it could be handed over to the honest Venezuelans. President Trump right after the raid and operating on very little sleep. He’s also not a Neocon nation builder. He doesn’t want boots on the ground. What he wants is Venezuela to return to what it once was. One of the richest nations in South America.
As for the Venezuelan people? There have been muted responses in country as I understand it, probably due to fear and not knowing what comes next. This is understandable for a people living in a tyranny for years. However, the Venezuelan ex-pat community in the United States and elsewhere are ecstatic over Maduro’s removal and arrest. I’ve read that some 8 million Venezuelans have fled the country. I wouldn’t doubt that a lot of them are willing to go back now and they will bring money and expertise to help rebuild the trashed economy and the nation’s infrastructure.
This is not Iraq and it is not Afghanistan. There is a history of representative government in Venezuela and a desire by most people to be free and to be able to improve their lives. These are not the Islamic inbred goat molesting pedophiles of the Middle East. These people have a Euro-American outlook. All they need is a helping hand and encouragement. This they will get from President Trump and I hope, most Americans. The Venezuelan people can forget about getting any help from the Democrats. They want Maduro back in power and the Cocaine and Fentanyl flowing freely into the United States.
