Good day all. Recently, a Hilton Hotel franchisee decided to cancel all the reservations for ICE agents. When confronted, Hilton Corporate investigated, thought the issue was corrected, then found out the franchisee lied to them. Hilton Corp. canceled the franchise and took down the Hilton signs. Now it looks like a McDonalds has decided to play stupid games.

Mcdonald’s is one of the major fast food burger joints in the country and the world. It was also used by President Trump during the election to troll Kamala Harris when President Trump did a shift there serving up customers. Many memes were born from that campaign stop.

Now it looks like a McDonald’s in Minneapolis has decided that they are going to war with ICE and that no ICE agents will be permitted on the premises. Here are the details from the Western Journal:
As U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents surged into Minneapolis, Minnesota, one local McDonald’s made a public display against the upholding of federal immigration law.
The Daily Wire posted an image of the sign, which was captioned “NO ICE ACCESS IN THIS BUSINESS,” to social media platform X on Thursday afternoon.
A Minneapolis McDonald’s is REFUSING to let ICE agents enter. @breccastoll: “We couldn’t help but notice there’s a sign that says, ‘No ICE,’ on the door.”

The sign was clear that it was intended as a “NOTICE TO ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT & IMMIGRATION AGENTS.”
“This is a private business,” it said.
“You are not permitted to enter non-public areas of this business (including offices, break rooms, storage areas, and staff-only areas) without a valid JUDICIAL WARRANT signed by a judge or magistrate.”

There are only two reasons ICE agents would go into that McDonald’s. One would be for lunch and the other would be to pick up an illegal alien. On the second part, someone should have explained to whoever put that poster up that ICE doesn’t need a warrant and that any attempt to block them in the performance of their duties is a great way to spend a few years in a federal prison.
A reporter from The Daily Wire paid a visit to the McDonald’s and confirmed the attempt to bar ICE agents from entry with a security guard.
“Yeah, just to let you know, at the end of the day, this is private property,” the security guard said.
“So you can’t just break the law because you’re a federal agent,” he added. “It’s like coming into your house or coming to any other restaurant. There’s rules.”
I wonder if that guard is aware that if ICE shows up looking for an illegal alien, (They don’t just go out driving around searching for them. They usually know where they are going to be and pick them up), they are going into that business and if the guard gets in the way, he’s going to be in cuffs and sitting in the back of a police car.
The security guard said he was not sure whether the manager was the individual who posted the sign.
And this is very important. When McDonald’s Corporate heard about this, they were not amused. (See Hilton Hotel’s reaction to their now former franchisee)
McDonald’s USA said it contacted the franchise owner regarding the sign, which has since been removed.
“We’re in touch with the owner/operator of this franchised restaurant and have confirmed that this flyer was posted without approval and has since been taken down,” the fast food behemoth told Blaze Media.
I suspect that the owner may also have several other franchises and may not have been aware of what was happening with this one. In these circumstances, the owner has an on site manager who handles the day to day running of the store. If some pinheaded local manager decided to play political games, he or she could have cost the owner everything.
The owner/operator refreshed employees about their policies regarding signage.
Oh to be a fly on the wall for that meeting! Although I haven’t seen anything regarding the employee(s) who put the sign up, I won’t be at all surprised if one or more are now “reevaluating their life choices” and “Spending more time with their families.” It would be one thing if the owner decided to become a moron and throw away his or her life’s work, but it’s an entirely different matter of a local manager did this on his or her own.
It’s good to see that the Hilton Lesson has sunk in with various franchise owners. Corporate HQ’s do not need the hassle and will pull a franchise in a blink of an eye. Now if ICE wants to rub salt into the wound, they should show up and order a Bic Mac with fries.
