TPUSA v Bad Bunny

Good day all. Last weekend was the Superbowl. Even though the New England Patriots were one of the two teams, I didn’t watch it. I haven’t watched the Superbowl in a long time. One of the issues this year was the halftime show. Apparently, the NFL “Hired” some singer named Bad Bunny.

The first I heard of this guy was about 2 weeks ago when people were saying that the NFL had lost its collectivist mind having him do the halftime show. Since I didn’t have any plans to watch the game or the show, I ignored it. However, others didn’t, one of which was Turning Point USA. They announced they were going to put their own halftime show on streaming media at the same time as the bad Bunny show.

Well, the reports are coming in and it’s interesting. The first reports I saw were on the WDW Pro Show on YouTube. It was a late show with another Base YouTube personality names Culture Casino. I didn’t watch it live, but caught the replay the next day. Apparently, the TPUSA counter broadcast with Kid Rock absolutely crushed the Bad Bunny halftime show. Now more information is coming out from “Official” sources and the Bad Bunny show was a disaster for the NFL. Here are the details from Fox News:

Turning Point USA’s “All-American” Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday was met with praise. The show, featuring Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett, streamed on YouTube at the same time as the Super Bowl halftime show with Bad Bunny took place. Many praised the alternate show, with millions tuning in — with numbers soaring to as high as 5 million viewers tuning in to the livestream on YouTube.

The last I heard, it was closer to 10 million viewers tuning in to the YouTube livestream. TPUSA was also live streaming on TwitterX, Rumble and several other platforms as well. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that as many as 20+ million people were watching Kid Rick. Of course, the usual moonbats have come out to protest that the Bad Bunny show was a fiasco.

However, some called it “underwhelming,” while others criticized Kid Rock’s vocal ability.

I wonder if these were the same critics who said that the new Melania Trump documentary was trash, then admitted that they never watched it?

Kacey Musgraves slammed Kid Rock as she took to X to share her thoughts.

The country singer wrote about Bad Bunny’s Halftime show: “Well. That made me feel more

proudly American than anything Kid Rock has ever done.”

I understand that the entire show was in Spanish, that the lyrics may have crossed some serious lines regarding broadcast television rules and regulations and trashed the United States. So, I wonder if this nobody actually watched the show and also speaks Spanish?

I have been doing a bit of research on the viewership numbers. I’ve seen that the Superbowl had 135 million viewers and that the TPUSA live stream had 6 million simultaneous viewers. However, I haven’t seen the actual numbers for the Superbowl halftime show. Apparently, a large number of people tuned out and didn’t watch the show. This also means that they didn’t see the very expensive ads that companies had spent a huge amount of money on either.

That is important. While people of a certain political viewpoint, (Woke Communist), are saying that over 100 million people were watching the game, and that the Bad Bunny show was huge, they aren’t considering just how many people either turned the channel or walked away and did something else during the show. Granted, it doesn’t mean they all went to watch Kid Rock.

However, Jake Paul took to X two hours prior the halftime show to slam Bad Bunny. Paul, who lives in Puerto Rico, denounced the Puerto Rican singer’s halftime show and told fans they “have power” to use their voices.

“Purposefully turning off the halftime show. Let’s rally together and show big corporations they can’t just do whatever they want without consequences (which equals viewership for them),” Paul wrote to X.

Adding: “You are their benefit. Realize you have power. Turn off this halftime.”

It goes back and forth, and frankly, I can’t say who is right regarding the quality of the performances. As I mentioned at the start, I didn’t watch either show or the actual Superbowl. (FYI, I just typoed Superbowl as “SuperBowel. That should give you a hint of my opinion of the game) However, the very fact that millions of people either watched the TPUSA show or just tuned out entirely is important.

Just how important was was the look on the NFL commissioner, Roger Goodall’s face when he was watching the show on the stadium jumbotron. He looked like he was going to be sick. I have a sneaking suspicion that this week is not going to be a pleasant one for him as angry advertisers rake him over the coals. As for the game? The Patriots lost.

I’ve read several Spanish speakers that are wondering just what language that guy was trying to sing in.
