Good day all. The racist philosophy known as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, or DEI, has been rightfully belittled and President Trump has been working to flush it out of Education Business and of course, Government. Considering all the Liberal Racists deeply entrenched in places like schools and business, it’s going to take a while.
However, one thing that is really angering people is using DEI to put people who are clearly unqualified into positions where people’s safety is at risk. One of these is the Airline industry. Now someone is saying the quiet part out loud. DEI and Affirmative Action causes planes to crash. Here are some of the details from the Western Journal:
Daniel Huff, a former White House lawyer, noted in a recent analysis that the drive toward diversity and inclusion in the airline industry has put passengers at risk.
In an article for the New York Post, Huff wrote that President Donald Trump was right to rescind diversity efforts at the Federal Aviation Administration.
I’m going to be bouncing back and forth between the Western journal and the New York Post stories.
That’s because female and minority pilots — many of whom entered the industry amid a drive toward diversity among pilots — were responsible for half of pilot-error crashes.
Despite making up 10 percent of pilots, they were responsible for four out of eight such crashes since 2000.
Now, just to set things straight. The articles are not saying all women and minority pilots are incompetent. They aren’t. Most commercial pilots are former military who went through a serious selection and training program. I can think of two female pilots who, at the time, were probably top tier.
One was flying an A-10 in Iraq that was shot up so bad that she was advised to eject. She brought the plane home and landed it. The other was an F-16 pilot on 9/11 who, with another pilot, was sent up to intercept and, if ordered, bring down an airliner. The planes were unarmed and they were planning on how to ram the airliner to stop it. (This was the one the Passengers almost took back from the terrorists I believe)
“The sample size is small,” Huff wrote. “But precisely because crashes are so rare, the few times they occur it’s important to scrutinize who is at the controls; under DEI’s guiding principle of relying on statistical disparities, it’s certainly enough to raise questions.”
“It’s not that women and minorities are inherently unable to fly planes, but in practice, pressure for affirmative action too often leads airlines to lower their standards to meet quotas,” Huff added.
And that, right there, is the problem. Instead of taking the time to find the best people possible, regardless of skin color or gender, these companies put those attributes at the top of the list with ability second. Now these pilots are, I am assuming, civilian trained, not military trained people. The military generally will wash out people who just aren’t qualified, provided politicians stay out of the way. (See Patricia Schroeder’s pushing a female aviator who had problems qualifying for carrier landings and crashed)
The attorney referenced the 2019 Atlas Air Crash as an example.
Conrad Aska, a black pilot, “panicked after accidentally initiating a go-around procedure and flew the plane into the ground,” Huff wrote.
I’m not a pilot, but it isn’t uncommon for a plane to need to abort a landing and go around. You just notify the tower and proceed. Granted, it appears that this gentleman may have screwed up in some way, but it happens and they just stick you in a simulator and have yo brush up on procedures. That isn’t what happened here.
There were signs that such behaviors were a risk even as he was training. In simulator exercises, he would “get extremely flustered and could not respond appropriately.”
I’m guessing that this gentleman, the late Mr. Aska was not a military trained pilot but went through a civilian training program. According to the Wikipedia article, he had a number of issues throughout his training and apparently misrepresented his record to Atlas Airlines. Mr. Huff goes on to discuss all sorts of incidents that don’t cause crashes, such as near misses. Others, such as training incidents stay behind closed doors.
Despite Trump’s moves to encourage merit-based hiring of pilots and other air travel personnel, major carriers insist on prioritizing diversity. A senior Delta executive said in January 2025 that the firm is “steadfast” with respect to diversity, which is “critical to our business.”
Then perhaps it’s time to select one of these airlines and ground them pending re-certification of their flight crews. I’m also thinking that if another accident occurs with loss of life, and it’s determined that it was pilot error and that the pilot was only in the cockpit because of DEI, then that airline needs to be sued into oblivion. The airline should also lose their flight certifications and be grounded permanently.
United wants half of graduates to be women or minorities, while Southwest still commits to “recruit, hire, and retain a diverse and inclusive workforce.”
This is what happens when you have Woke, politically correct idiots in charge of companies. For them, hiring is all about check boxes. Generally, a lot of this is due to the Human Resources Department ignoring reality and pushing DEI so that the company can “Look good.” We’re also seeing a number of medical schools flat out say that they are going to use DEI to select medical school candidates instead of people who will make good doctors.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again. DEI is a racist philosophy that is not only wrong, but is also killing people. The Trump administration is trying hard to shut all this garbage down, but I think it’s going to take jailing people when their decisions on hiring get people killed.
