MSNOW formally ends the fiction that they are a News service

Good day all. Not long ago, the cable channel known as MSNBC was formally booted out of the NBC/Universal and told to find a new home. To rub salt in the wound, they also told the new company that they couldn’t use the NBC part of MSNBC.

When MSNBC was formally severed from NBC/Universal, they changed their name to the “Game changing” name of MSNOW. I won’t bother going into the details, I already did last year. Obviously, I didn’t watch MSNBC and I certainly don’t watch the raving lunatics on MSNOW. That is part of the problem for MSNOW, no on is watching them. Now they have come up with a typical Libtard “Brilliant” idea. Here are some of the details from Fox News:

MS NOW’s overhaul of its programming is signaling that it is leaning into its liberal identity, network insiders say. On Wednesday, MS NOW announced a major shuffling of its on-air talent coming in June. The network is ending its straight news programs hosted by Ana Cabrera, who is exiting the network, and Chris Jansing, who has been tapped to become MS NOW’s chief political reporter.

One network insider told Fox News Digital that MS NOW is veering away from the “Andy Lack nonsense” of the editorial programming separations between daytime and primetime, referring to the network’s former chairman during its MSNBC days from 2015-2020.

“Both internally and to the viewer, the distinctions are less clear than they used to be, including the distinctions between perspective and news,” the MS NOW staffer said. “The sort of the general weakening of CNN has caused MS NOW to lean more into what it is and what its viewers like.”

So, to sum up, MSNOW is no longer going to pretend to be a news organization and is going to go all Trump Derangement Syndrome 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I’m sure the profits will just pour in now.

The insider pointed to the success of “Deadline: White House” hosted by Nicolle Wallace, highlighting how her 4 p.m. show earns viewership that rivals the network’s primetime programming.

“What we’re finding is you can achieve that in different parts of the day if you don’t pretend to be CNN for half your lineup,” the MS NOW staffer said. “So, I think what you’re going to be seeing is changes to shows that just seem like news, right?

CNN is going to be undergoing some massive changes in the next year or so, once the deal closes on the takeover by Skydance/Paramount. The plan is to return CNN to what it was originally set up to be. A global 24 hour news service that people could turn to for the latest news and information.

“[The viewers] like MS NOW, they’re super loyal to MS NOW, and they’d like MS NOW to be MS NOW all the time.”

The viewers? You mean all five of them?

On Wednesday’s 10 a.m. editorial call, MS NOW President Rebecca Kutler doubled down on the direction of the network’s programming.

“We want to make sure that, as we cover the news, we are creating shows and programs that bring personality to every hour of the day,” Kutler told staff, Fox News Digital learned.

“I definitely feel better about it now than I did then,” the MS NOW insider said. “I think things have executed much more effectively than I thought they would.

“The bottom line is Donald Trump and the environment helped us figure out what it is we needed to be. And I think they’re leading into it. So, I would say I’m more bullish about the place than I was when it started.”

And there it is. They intend to officially turn MS NOW, (or is it MSNOW? Who knows? Who really cares?), into what they’ve always been but have denied. A Democrat party propaganda organ that will only talk about how evil President Trump is and how bad the United States is and that the only thing that can save us all is electing Democrats. Only then can they end the threat of free thought, patriotism and that obsolete document, the Constitution of the United States.

A second MS NOW insider told Fox News Digital the network’s separation from NBC News “is the best thing that could have happened to us.”

Oh really? What are your plans when the money runs out?

“We know exactly who we are and who our audience is,” the source said. “Leaders here won’t make the same mistakes that CNN did, trying to find a cable audience that doesn’t exist.”

I know who your audience is too. In fact, I have a picture of your typical viewer.

Currently, MS Now makes it’s money from carriage fees from cable companies, ads and apparently, a subscription service to be named later. There are a number of problems with their model. The fees they charge from cable companies might dry up as they determine that no one is watching them and they can use that bandwidth for other, more profitable services.

Ad revenue is another problem. Advertisers actually expect to see results for the money they are spending and if they aren’t getting a return on investment, they will cancel their ad buys. That will leave the subscription model they are looking at. I did a quick Grok search and the service is scheduled to go online in the summer of 2026, just in time for the midterm elections.

The idea of the subscription service is to get around the problem of cord cutting as people decide that Cable television isn’t worth the money. There is a major downside to that idea of course. What happens if no one actually pays for a subscription? This is what happened with CNN’s original subscription service, CNN+. It failed so miserably that they pulled the plug in 30 days and laid off pretty much everyone working there.

I don’t see the MS NOW service fairing any better. Liberals love to spend money, as long as it’s someone else’s. When it comes to spending their own money on a marginal propaganda service, Liberals tend to get rather tight with a dollar real fast. Add to that, I don’t see such a service working in overseas markets. I suspect that management will end that service in short order as they learn that eventually, you run out of other people’s money.

Now the question is, how long will MS NOW exist? While they are cutting staff, they still have a number of overpriced “Talent, such as Rachael Madcow, who barely show up to work as it is. It might take a few years, but I won’t be at all surprised if MS Now isn’t either sold off for electronic scrap or just shut down completely. If and when that happens, will anyone even notice?
