Good day all. This is breaking news. President Trump has handed Pam Bondi her walking papers and she is no longer the Attorney General of the United States. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche is going to be acting AG until a new one is selected and confirmed.
Pam Bondi was a rather odd choice when it was announced. A number of people questioned her 2nd Amendment support and to be honest, she has been blowing hot and cold on that. Handing the 2nd Amendment issues when dealing with the states to Harmeet Dhillon was a great idea as she has been hammering states on civil rights grounds. However, Bondi has had a bad habit of letting her mouth write checks she couldn’t cash, starting with the whole Epstein files fiasco. Now she has been removed. Here are some of the details from Fox News:
President Donald Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi Wednesday, according to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke with Fox News Digital.
Now the way President Trump did it was not to rip her apart. Bondi was loyal to President Trump and the Constitution, unlike her predecessor, Merrick Garland. President Trump thanked her for her service and said nice things about her, and there are areas that Pam Bondi did do very good work.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as interim attorney general, Fox News reported Thursday.
“Our Deputy Attorney General, and a very talented and respected Legal Mind, Todd Blanche, will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General,” Trump added in his post. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Now the question is who will replace Pam Bondi? One name that has been floated, other then sticking Secretary of State Marco Rubio with yet another job, is Lee Zeldin.
The president is reportedly considering replacing Bondi with Environmental Protection Agency Director Lee Zeldin, according to the sources familiar with the matter. Trump held a meeting with Zeldin at the White House Tuesday to discuss wildfire and prevention, where talks of the transition also unfolded, according to an individual familiar with the meeting.
I caught the tail end of a live stream from Washington Gun Law. He had two others on and at the end, they named a few others besides Zeldin, all solid pro-2A state AG’s. I suspect we will find out who the new AG Designate will be next week. As for Bondi, she’s apparently now looking for a new job in the Dreaded Private Sector.
There have been a lot of rumors on why President Trump finally decided the time had come to hand Bondi her walking papers. There have been several critical cases that don’t appear to have been handled very well by her department. Then there are all the Biden and Obama thugs who literally tried to jail President Trump and who are still walking around free. She really didn’t seem to be all that hot to prosecute members of the Deep State. I’ve already mentioned the Epstein files.
Another rumor I heard was that she warned Comrade Eric Swalwell about the coming release of the Fang Fang report. News of that came out about a week ago and Swalwell has been making all sorts of threats if it’s released. In the end, many people, myself included, came to the conclusion that Pam Bondi just wasn’t cut out for the job and what needed to be done.
Yes, she got some things taken care of, but she just moved to slow and didn’t get things handled that should have been done early in her tenure. Well at least she wasn’t the complete failure that Jeff “Sleepy” Sessions was or the backstabbing slimeball that Bill Barr turned out to be. Hopefully, the next AG will finally start throwing Deep State swamp dwellers into prison, including as many Democrat office holders as can be proven to have committed a crime. (Ilhan Omar comes to mind)
