Good day all. I had planned on posting this a few days ago, but then we had Eric Scumwell’s political implosion. Since the anticipated collapse of the truce talks with the Iranian regime, the IRGC has been doing their usual threats against anyone trying to enter the Strait of Hormuz, or as I’ve decided to call it, the Strait of Falafel. The United States Navy has sent in some destroyers to start clearing the mines the Iranians dropped, and lost track of.
One of the things that Iran had started doing was charging tankers that wanted to enter and leave a toll. President Trump has just put a stop to that and announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz Falafel. Here are the details from Newsmax:
President Donald Trump on Sunday said the U.S. Navy would immediately start blockading the Strait of Hormuz and would also interdict every vessel in international waters that had paid a toll to Iran. The president emphasized that Iran will never be able to charge tolls for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

These tolls were basically extortion. The tankers owners either paid up or the IRGC wold try and sink them. I suspect the ship owners did the math and decided that the $2 million dollars each way was worth the price. President Trump made the announcement on Truth Social.
“Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz,” said Trump, who is strongly opposed to the idea of Iran charging ships a toll to pass through the strait.
“I have also instructed our Navy to seek and interdict every vessel in International Waters that has paid a toll to Iran. No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas,” he said.

I have a suspicion that a number of ship owners are going to be calling the State Department about this. It does sound like that they were victims of extortion. Now there may be a lot more to this that hasn’t been made public yet. It could be that some of these ship owners actually approached the Iranian regime and made an offer to pay them to be allowed in and out of the Gulf. If that is the case, then screw the ship owners.
As for Iran, their ability to cause trouble has been seriously reduced. The factories that were being used to build their missiles and drones have been leveled and their stockpiles have been either used up or blown up. Most of the Iranian leadership has been reduced to worm chow and Ali Khamenei is rumored to be either dead or so badly injured that he is noting more than a cardboard cutout.

It will be interesting to see what happens once the Navy has completed mine clearing operations and opens the Strait of Falafel to shipping. Will Iran try firing on tankers and U.S. navel ships? Do they even have the ability left to do so? We shall see.

Well, that is all well and good, but the burning question of the day is whether President Trump will hire Harry as interpreter to attend the meetings with King Charles III?
