Good day all. Monday, June 1st, 60 minutes propagandist Scott Pelley was fired by management for cause. I wrote up a post about it on Tuesday when I read about it. Pelley has not been getting any sympathy outside of the Mostly Stupid Media and the Moonbats of the Democrat Party.
What happened is that Pelley decided he was in charge and insulted bot the new producer and Bari Weiss. He forgot that these two were his bosses, and they reminded him by firing him for cause. This had to be done as the CBS News Division over the decades has become a complete joke. They have no credibility at all and the idiots working there don’t seem to understand this.
With Pelley’s firing, along with other long term lefitsts not having their contracts renewed or being laid off, it’s beginning to sink in to those libtarded blockheads that the times, they are a changing, and they aren’t happy. Now there are rumors that CBS may see mass resignations. Here are the details from Newsmax:
The firing of “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley could be just the tip of the iceberg at the venerable news magazine.
Pelley was fired after criticizing CBS News Editor Bari Weiss of “murdering ’60 Minutes'” and blasting the credentials of Nick Bilton, the show’s new executive producer, at a staff meeting.
As everyone has been saying, what did Pelley think would happen? That Bari Weiss would roll over? She was put in place to clean up the mess that is CBS News and 60 Minutes. They gave Pelley every chance, far more than any other employer would have and he just doubled down on stupid. So they fired him.
Dylan Byers, a media reporter at Puck, a digital news company, warned more departures could be coming during an appearance on MS NOW.
Along with Pelley, correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega were recently fired and correspondent Anderson Cooper departed.
Sharyn Alfonsi wasn’t fired. Her contract was up and CBS chose not to renew it. Cecilia Vega was dismissed because she too had a big mouth, however, it doesn’t appear she was fired for cause, but was laid off and I suspect her contract bought out. Both of these ladies forgot who was in charge of CBS News and that it wasn’t them.
“No one has left the building at ’60 Minutes’ without some version of what Scott did, some sort of criticism toward the new management, and indeed the new ownership about the direction of the show,” Byers said.
Some sort of criticism is a nice way of putting what these people did. They were public, loud and insulting. In the case of Alfonsi, it looks like she released a story that Weiss had ordered delayed until more information was gathered including some quotes from the Administration. It later came out that the Trump administration did respond, but 60 Minutes and Alfonsi ignored them.
“It is very difficult to see how this new leadership is able to usher ’60 Minutes’ as it has existed in the past into the future,” Byers added. “We only have three remaining correspondents there. I know that they currently are deliberating over what they are going to do.
“It’s very possible that we’re going to arrive at a moment here in a matter of weeks, if not days, where there is no existing talent left at ’60 Minutes’ and they are going to have to build this back up from scratch.”
I don’t’ think that this moonbat from BS Now understands what is going on. 60 Minutes is actually in trouble and has been for a while. For years, they have been caught editing stories and comments from people they didn’t like to put them in the worst possible light. They have been sued repeatedly and have either settled or lost. Getting rid of everyone and rebuilding may be the only way to restore the credibility that 60 Minutes threw away decades ago.
Bari Weiss was brought in by the Ellisons, not because she is a conservative, (She most certainly isn’t), but because she works hard to keep her news stories as accurate as possible. Basically, she is an old style reporter, not a modern journalist. (Although she does call herself a journalist) She keeps her editorializing in the editorial section and out of the stories. Hopefully, she can achieve her goal and if it means a conga line of moonbats, propagandists and libtards out the door, so be it.
