Good day all. One of the better hiring decisions for President Trump this time around was Harmeet Dhillon to the DoJ. She going after states that suppress the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans. Now President Trump has raised the hopes even further of American gun owners.
In this case, President Trump has announced that his administration is working on national “Right to Carry” legislation. Here are the details from Fox News:
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that his administration is “working on” national right-to-carry legislation, a comment that could signal White House support for a proposal that would dramatically expand firearm carry rights across the U.S.
Allow me to provide a bit of background here. The 2nd Amendment states that the people have the right to keep and bear arms. We can argue about things like the NFA and the 1986 gun control act another day. In this case, President Trump is looking for legislation that basically creates uniform standards across America.
For example. New Hampshire, the home state of Anger Central, has what is called “Constitutional Carry.” You can carry a gun, either concealed or in the open without a permit or license. Many, many people do, which is why New Hampshire doesn’t have a serious crime problem as you do in Democrat controlled states.
Now take Massachusetts. PLEASE! Massachusetts has all but outlawed the 2nd Amendment. While you do not needs a carry permit in New Hampshire, they do offer them if you want one. While a number of states recognize the New Hampshire permit, Massachusetts doesn’t. If you happen to go into the state with a firearm, they will put you in jail.
Trump’s comments come more than three months after Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, introduced the National Constitutional Carry Act, legislation that would eliminate concealed-carry permit requirements nationwide for eligible Americans.
“The Founders established a national right to keep and bear arms, not to ask for permission from hostile local officials or risk imprisonment for crossing the wrong state line,” Lee said in a statement to Fox News Digital in March.
“Many states already protect the right to carry without a permit, and it’s time to reaffirm this right for all law-abiding Americans,” he continued. “The National Constitutional Carry Act will establish nationwide permitless carry to keep America safe and her people free.”
I did not realize that Senator Lee was proposing permitless carry. I thought it was going to be something like a drivers license, accepted in all 50 states and territories. I approve this legislation.
Currently, 29 states allow some form of constitutional carry, meaning residents can carry a concealed firearm without a permit.
Lee’s legislation would allow eligible Americans who can legally possess firearms to carry concealed weapons nationwide without obtaining a permit. The bill would also prohibit states and local governments from imposing licensing requirements, fees or criminal penalties on otherwise lawful public carry while preserving restrictions in certain secured locations and on private property where firearms are prohibited.
That is going to drive the Libtarded states absolutely berserk. I just asked Grok if Senator Lee’s bill would also deal with states that ban or limit certain guns or have magazine/ammunition limitations imposed. The answer was YES. This means that someone in New Hampshire who is carrying a pistol with a standard capacity magazine, generally 12-18+ rounds, won’t be arrested by the police. The bill also blocks criminals from having/carrying guns. (That is another discussion)
To add to the pain of Progressive Liberal Democrat Totalitarian Slavers, the Supreme Court just drove a judicial stake through Hawaii’s “Vampire” gun law. Basically, the law blocked anyone from going pretty much anywhere outside of their own property with a gun even if they had managed to get a carry permit. It was nicknamed the Vampire Law since it blocked gun owners from privately owned but publicly accessible property unless the owner put a sign up saying guns were welcome
We also have Harmeet Dhillon going after states that are actively denying people their 2nd Amendment rights. She’s recently threatened Kalifornistan over their Glock ban and a number of other anti-second amendment laws. She offered them settlement terms that basically would throw out all of these unconstitutional laws. I don’t expect Kalifornistan to agree.
For the first time in decades, we are seeing an Administration that is treating the 2nd Amendment for what it is. A right absolutely guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. This is a long time in coming. Now to just get rid of the NFA.
